It works could be better
It seems like something that can be trusted, and it's slim.That said it's not really a nice handle that they should offer like the totally amazing one on the FT-897D, check photos if you're not familiar with that one.I don't think the 897 handle will fit though and I'd be very careful using a different handle as the screw lengths have to be just right not to damage the radio insides.

This should have came with the radio, but it is easy to install and is a quality piece. A little expensive in my book, but it works great.
