Great Containers for Living Cultures Like Homemade Yogurt or Sourdough Starter
I use all the different sizes of Weck jars. From storing my own personal sourdough starter to my wife using them for making yogurt, these jars are perfect for when a sterilized, clean container is needed to allow a living culture to do its business of providing a unique flavor and then the consequent need for storage. This size is perfect for homemade yogurt. This Weck system utilizes two different tops in two different sizes. I have extras of each of them and use them always. The glass lids, clips, and rubber seals are perfect for products that might build up pressure (like a sourdough starter), and for high-temperature cleaning/processes when sterilization/killing bacteria is necessary. The plastic lids are useful for storing leftovers and when a quick on-off is desired. The thickness of the jars allows for sturdy uses and cleaning. The glass is easy to clean both by hand and in a dishwasher. Use them in confidence, they work great!...dj

Great for shakes
I use these with a Braun MultiQuick 9 hand blender, which fits perfectly inside, to make shakes. The Weck lids take a little getting used to at first, but are easy after doing it a few times. The fact that the lid is glass too is a big plus over the plastic-coated mason lids.Definitely not what you want to use for quick "open, take some out, close it" storage, however. Screwtops are still supreme for spices and similar. But for preparing meals and drinks (as well as the intended canning) I'm surprised I never saw Weck recommended. Also, they're made in Germany, which is a good plus too.

Great storage bottles
Love these Weck Jars for food prep. Seal tight and easy to open. This size is perfect for cellery and carrots. All the sizes are recommended!

Use as drinking glasses
Had a set of almost small vase like glasses and don’t like plastic so when most of those broke I found these and they are just as good. Of course, they’re canning jars but work fine as drinking glasses as well. They are very well made with thick glass.

Best purchase
I bought these to store my brewed leftover coffee to make iced coffees. I love the Weck jars. The lids with the rings and clasp seal so good.

Heavy duty
Used for storage, keeps food air tight

Good but one minor detail
It seems the rubber seal very quickly reacts to the heat from your hands while handling and is often not possible to get a perfect seal again unless you leave the ring for a while. Don't recommend for mimosa
