Perfect fit on RS3 Pro. Usual smallrig quality
DJI's implementation of the manfrotto plate is weird.... Standard plates don't seam to mount on the Ronin, and the original Ronin S uses a plate that doesn't fit on the RS3 Pro.This extended smallrig plate does fit properly on the RS3 pro, and has the tracks to ease balancing. It won't however fit on a tripod head which requires the plate to slide in, although it will fit if the head has a drop in function. This is not smallrig's fault, they've just made a plate that fits the RS3 Pro perfectly with no loss of function. It's very well machined and as good or better quality than the one supplied by DJI.

Gives more options for balancing bigger cameras
Works similar to the native plate (has the cog track for micro adjusting) meaning it fits but with more room for balancing. Depending on the position you screw it in you can add weight further to the front or the back of the camera.Something to note is that it does not include the second quick release plate that connects to the camera on the original plate. I have no issues with this as my Sony FS5 had a hard time keeping straight due to the single quarter inch screw, any nudge would move the camera on the plate. This plate however comes with the quarter inch screw and the bigger screw meaning it won’t budge which is awesome. The camera also has a lower centre of gravity, as well as better positioning of the focus assist as the plate is closer to the lenses. You can buy the counter weights to assist on front heavy cameras. There is a quarter inch screw inlet at the back to add a weight. It’s worth noting you can by an extra clamp to attach and add more weights. A con I found is that the weights can change the tilt axis (the one where you balance the camera upward) meaning you might find that the weights force you to bring the camera higher, which in some cases may hit the back motor.Another con would be that you can’t take off the camera quickly however what you sacrifice in speed you gain in solidarity. This plate helped a lot…. Thanks again easyrig

It’s good, but beware…
Really nice longer plate with 2 screws, but this plate doesn’t have the teeth to be able to let you use the fine tuning knob for balancing…

Crucial flexibility for the RS2 with the extended plate.
This is exactly what I was looking for. The RS2 has the easiest mounting I’ve used on a gimbal, and I was really hoping someone had the foresight to design a plate with the RS2 teeth on the bottom, but just much longer. I feel a lot better using this with some longer lens setups, and keen to try it with a matte box too! It’s also great to have backup plates for the RS2, but the flexibility of the shorter one and this extended one means I can pretty much shoot with any of my lenses. Also very handy when using a gimbal with a matte box, which tends to be front heavy - this plate includes a useful way of mounting counterweights onto the back end of the camera, as opposed to the arm.Very well built too, Smallrig keep upping their game and this once again feels really strong to me. I’m kitting out the RS2 with a bunch of Smallrig accessories and they’ve all been amazing quality!

Enables my Sony Camcorder to fit on the Gimbal
I recently bought a DJI Ronin RS3 gimbal and wanted to fit my Sony FDR AX53 camcorder to the gimbal for super smooth ultra Zoom shots. The mounting plate that comes with the gimbal isn’t long enough to allow you to fit a camcorder due to the different size of the camcorder against a conventional SLR camera. This Mount is an extra inch and a quarter longer and this allows the camcorder to be mounted and work properly in all axes on the gimbal.

Way better than the RS2 standard one
Which for most video setups, is just too short! Like most Smallrig components, it is solving a problem that most people wouldn't consider, in a well made efficient way.

Well worth it
Great product. I use it for my fx6 to go on my ronin. It’s also fits my manfrotto monopod and main tripod which means easy switching
