Welbeck Publishing Group Metallica: The Stories Behind the Songs

I thought this would look at each song and talk about the music, perhaps how it was recorded, what instruments, who came up with a riff, and that kind of thing. What you actually get is the author's interpretation of the lyrics and what James MIGHT have meant by them.It's a nice coffee table book but I stopped reading when I realised there was no real insight or research behind this - it's just one person's idea of what the likes of "St Anger" might mean, when he doesn't even know who wrote the lyrics on that album and seems similarly vague on the meanings of the others.Great pics though.
