Very interesting read about a very interesting man. Also great insight about how the duty free business was born and how it grew from its infancy to what we all know today. This book is about a guy names Chuck Feeney so maybe it’s normal that toward the end of the book you get tired of reading his name at least twice on every page and of course the pattern of his personality becomes apparent early on so many of the stories resemble each other. Non the less absolutely incredible story about unheard levels of kindheartedness, generosity, modesty and humbleness . Must read if your interested in the art of giving...

As I worked for Chuck Feeney's company Duty Free Shoppers for some 12 years and was most interested to learn more about this intriguing man. This book did not disappoint and was a worthwhile read. I was responsible for setting up a charitable trust based in Hong Kong. The company always made an attempt to work closely with the local community and I now fully understand where the motivation for this policy originated. His co-owner Bob Miller was also a positive, likable man; it is rare to see such a large, successful company directed by men who had ambitions to support worthwhile local causes rather than merely amass loads of money.Roger Thomas

Really enjoyed the read. Chuck is an inspiring person. I have gifted this book to several people. It is, exactly as advertised, the story of how a modest man made billions, realized life is about more than money, and gave it away. The strategic way in which Chuck went about giving away his money, leveraging his donations to onboard others and multiply the impact of his donation was brilliant.

Amazing book. Probably the world will never see an another person like Chuck Feeney when it comes to philanthrophy I simply loved this book written by Conor o Cleary. i loved it and would say a must read book for an entrepreneur.
