Great hood for the price
Great hood for a great price, considering the other really expensive hoods we found out there. It really sucks air and overall looks good. We opted for push button controls rather than for an illuminated display panel, since we're remodeling the kitchen to stay within the vibe of our kitchen - no electronic displays on stove (Wolfe) or ExtremeAir hood.We mounted it quite high above the range, since we have glass blocks behind and didn't want to obscure the light coming in from the outside, and even though the hood is placed way above the advised distance, when my husband cooks bacon and crepes, you can barely smell them. The hood definitely is loud when going full speed, but it feels industrial strength - like the stove, so I'm OK with that.Nothing about the pairing is wimpy, except the LED lighting, which wasn't very bright and cast a strange bluish color. I called the company about replacement bulbs. They were very responsive and sent me a set of 2 replacement LED lights that emit a whiter light and didn't charge. It turns out the bulbs were very easy to swap out and I didn't have to hire an electrician. I was able to do it by myself by standing on a step stool. I do hope the company reads this review and makes sure to include brighter white LED lights for future customers. We've now had the hood for 2 weeks, use it everyday, including the lighting. I would buy the hood again. Once our tile backsplash is finished, I'll upload a photo

Beware the Inaccurate Instructions and Drawings
We ordered the UL02-W36 and are pleased with how it looks and functions now that we have it installed, but beware the documentation at XtremeAir's website and don't count on them responding to your emails. Here is what I sent them with zero response: I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the instructions. Three primary issues, not in order of incidence:First, the side mounting holes in the ceiling bracket and the matching holes in the top of the inside piece of the chimney didn't match. We mounted the the ceiling bracket in the exact corner of the ceiling, but when we tried to install the ceiling, we found that holes were mismatched by almost 1/8". In order to install the chimney we had remount the bracket with a 1/8" gap to the ceiling.Second, either the chimney shipped with our product was the wrong one, or the drawings and information are lacking. The directions DO NOT MENTION that the chimney, as built, has about a 19" minimum height in order to accommodate the ceiling bracket holes. In order to mount the chimney in our space (about 17 3/16" tall), I had to cut three inches off the bottom of the inside piece and modify the top of the outside chimney piece so that it didn't interfere with the ceiling bracket. a 19" (or whatever the correct value is) minimum chimney height should be part of the specifications and described up front in the instructions.Third, there were no instructions on installing the exhaust doors/vent adapter and the lower chimney bracket to the hood. It was not clear how that assembly was supposed to go together. In the end, we're happy with what we have, but I can't recommend your product to anyone, since many would be likely to have a similarly poor installation experience and might not have the equipment necessary to be able to modify the pieces. In fact, in my case, I spent an additional $45 to buy an angle grinder and a cut-off disk in order to make the required modifications.

Well made range hood
Good solid range hood. Easy installation; I did it myself with no helper. The box it comes in is the perfect size to put on top of the range & support the hood while mounting it. I had to modify the back plate so it would fit our existing range hood mounting bolts, as we have a tile back-splash & I didn't want to drill through it. The back-plate is separate from the hood, so it wasn't a problem to take it into the garage & drill new holes. The fan is quiet & moves plenty of air. It's not whisper quiet, but not obtrusive either . There is not a lot of noise increase between the highest & lowest setting. We went with the analog button model, instead of the LED display. We had an LED display on our previous hood & found it distracted from the clean lines of the hood, in addition to providing unnecessary information. As per some of the other reviews on Amazon & other sites, the LED lights that come with the hood are the daylight 4000-5000k style & the light provided is harsh. I contacted XtremeAir & they promptly sent me two replacement lights in a warmer spectrum, probably soft white ~2700k. I paid for the shipping; $6.80. I think the warm light looks much better over the range than the stark daylight LED's.All in All a good purchase, we are happy with it. Designed & assembled in America is nice as well.

Very Stylish, BUT design not efficient for my use
It is around 900cfm. Tested at roof discharge with velocimeter borrowed from work. Why would I test? Because the design does not pull smoke from stove top very well. **NOTE; any hood at these dimensions will probably be the same.**The intake area only covers the back third of stove. Six inches of the front under- hood is plain metal that holds the lights. Definitely cannot pan sear a steak. It will still smoke up the house. On a positive note, it is much better than my old hood and looks awesome.I'm guessing if you want a hood that is more of a smoke extractor you will need one that covers most of the top of your stove with its intake area. Unfortunately I did not know this or I would have bought the Z Line 697-30....okay I don't know if it would work better but it is 27.5 inches deep and would cover most of stove top. I am assuming that this design would make better use of the 900cfm now that I know how the air flow works with these.
