Coleman Xtreme Cooler

I bought this mainly with the intention of using it out on my deck. However, after each time it rains, there is a substantial amount of rain water that can be found in the cooler. Thus I cannot store any items in the cooler in between uses. I would definitely not recommend this product.

El único detalle que le noto "debil" es que las bisagras son de plástico. No entiendo como una parte que estará constantemente en uso pudiera tener un acabado tan chafa ¿Y entonces porqué le di 4 estrellas? porque cierra perfectamente bien, muy buen precio y, en caso de que se llegaran a romper las bisagras, no impide su buen funcionamiento.

When my very old refrigerator died, I decided to use a cooler for several months while I make some changes to my kitchen infrastructure. Doing the work by myself, it's taking a while :) I have a freezer so I can rotate fresh ice packs into the cooler once a day. It has worked great for me and my two kids, through the hottest part of summer in an old farmhouse that stays very warm 24/7 in summer. But for the price it has been great... it's very nearly as convenient as a refrigerator. I camped a lot (months at a time) for many years, including in the desert, and based on this summer I would trust this cooler for that purpose if you can replenish your ice reasonably often. I have not had to use it out in the rain, etc. so perhaps as someone said it could allow water in. It's true when living outdoors you have to be prepared to protect your gear, cover things when a rainstorm is coming in... to me that's just common sense. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because the lid tends to not close all the way -- not a big deal, you just have to pay attention and make sure it's really closed, but if you are careless you could probably lose food. I was relieved that there's no plasticky smell.

Excelente hielera de muy buen buen tamaño le meti tres 24's con hielo y la deje toda la noche, amanecio con el hielo practicamente entero, se sienten resistentes las agarraderas

La calidad Coleman siempre es garantía, pero ésta en específico me llego con unas marcas amarillas que creí q eran defecto, pero al tallarle muy fuerte pude quitarselas, además de que su caja venía con mucha humedad, como si hubiera estado olvidada. Pero eso no quita que se ve muy elegante en el color negro y para una fiesta aguanta sin problema. No la he usado en campamentos o viajes largos para saber que tal aguanta el hielo, pero para lo que a mi me sirve, cumple su función.
