I gave this two stars because if you purchased your mailbox directly from this brands company then it probably will work. The mail man accidentally got his truck door caught on my grammas mailbox and ripped our mailbox door right off!!! And he just drove off without saying anything!!! Her HOA wanted to charge her $700 for a whole new one. My grama has one of these brands mailboxes but the company who sells these to her subdivision filled in the original holes and drilled new holes into the hinge and the mail box (why???). I ended up finally finding “shutter hinges” after several trips in to town to the hardware store. It’s still not exactly perfect because the holes that are drilled into the mailbox are quite crooked but it opens and closes, just have to push it harder. If you have a mailbox directly from this company you can probably use this hinge but if not, look for “shutter hinges” it woulda saved me a lot of time if I had known what these are called.
