These clips are fantastic. It takes just one to hold up my below shoulder length hair in a bun all day. The teeth seem really thin and bendable but it's definitely on purpose because they flex around your hair to grip at different angles or levels. It normally takes 4-5 of the regular 1" scunci no-slip clips to hold my hair in a bun. I like that the part you hold with your fingers is lower because they don't stick off your head as much and can lay more level with my bun.I also use these in the shower to hold my completely wet hair in a bun while I shave. It's not easy to find a clip that can do this. I normally have to use hair ties which rip when taking out of wet hair.I took one star away because the pack I received had obviously been opened before. But the clips both looked unused and clean so I didn't send em back.

I bought similar clips but different (bigger) size and non-brand - advertised as made-in France. I like them but they're too large for my thin straight hair, so I bought these hidden-hinge Scuncï brand. Right away upon receipt, I knew it's not at all the same as my other clips. The plastic is thin and hard while the other (French made) clips have thicker plastic but 'gives' a little. I think the little elasticity on the thicker plastic will make them more long wearing. The hidden hinge doesn't make Scuncï clips feel sturdier, in fact when I opened and closed the clips, the hinge felt wobbly. If the plastic that's molded to cover the spring mechanism of the hinge broke, the clips would be over.The tines (teeth) of Scuncï clips also are thin and sharp, appropriately called 'claws' because they scratch my scalp.I'm not returning them, I want to know if they last and how they compare to the French made ones.
