The Barbering Co. Large Alum Block in Bamboo Case | 100% Natural Potassium Alum Stone/Bar | Styptic, Anti-Ingrown Hair Aftershave for Men | 3oz

The first one I bought had a big chip, so I returned it to Amazon for replacement. The replacement arrived and looked good ... and as I was unwrapping it, a chunk constituting around a quarter of the whole block just fell off in my hand (see picture). I was going to return this one too, but that entails a 3 mile drive to a UPS store and I didn't feel like doing that a second time, so I'm keeping it or throwing it out or whatever. I'll go buy one of the alum blocks that cost 1/3 as much and always arrive in good condition. Don't be fooled into thinking that spending a premium amount of $ necessarily means you're getting a premium product. This is junk.

This alum stone was recommended to me by a friend, so I was excited to test it out and compare it to my other alums.I must say that I love it so far. It is very well made, solid, and has smooth edges which make it comfortable to use. I hate when alum stones break or have sharp angles, and this one certainly doesn’t. It’s a pleasure to use. The case is perfect for it too, so much better than those plastic boxes that are normally used for alums. Overall a product of great quality and an amazing addition to my shaving arsenal!

I have been satisfied with Barbering Co. other products so I decided to try their Alum Block. The packaging was pleasant with the bamboo case, which comes in handy for my travel lifestyle. The product itself is fantastic. I appreciate the smoothness of the block when applied on my skin. It’s very easy and comfortable to use. The best aspect is that it doesn’t crumble at all!!! This was a common issue I’ve had with previous blocks, so I am really impressed with yet another product from Barbering Co!

Bought this to replace my old alum block from another brand. I guess not all are created equal. My old alum block was truly a single block. It was solid and translucent.The packaging this came in states "solid block - will not crumble". The first part of that is clearly a LIE. As for the second part, time will tell.Not impressed

I have used The Barbering Co. Alum Block for my last three shaves and been very pleased. Previously used an alum stick. I wasn't sure if I would be OK working with a bar but it was "easy peasy" and feels great on newly shaved face. The bamboo case makes storage a snap - neat with no mess or residue on shaving shelf. Very pleased with the quality and price. The Alum bar has enhanced my shaving experience!
