AlienwareDell AW988 Wireless and Wired Stereo 7.1 Gaming Headset - Black

I got this headphones to compliment my existing Alienware m17 laptop. Although sound is a bit less than my expectations but overall its ok for some gaming. Comfortable to wear as well and the RGB lights make it look so cool at night!

Other than the Alienware 25” monitor I use I really haven’t had much experience with their products. I play on a PS4 Pro and love my monitor so I seen so reviews on the headset and decided to pull the trigger. For reference my prior headset was the HyperX Cloud Flight which I absolutely love. It meets all my criteria in a wireless headset...comfortable, durable, sounds good with a decent microphone. The Alienware thus far surpasses my Flights in almost every category except it’s about $40 more expensive. Still the headset just feels well made when you hold it in your hands. It’s like Alienware made a Frankenstein headset combining parts of other acclaimed headsets. It has the futuristic appearance of the Logitech G933, steel headband of my Flights among others, ear pad material of the Steelseries Arctis line, earcup shape of the V-Moda Crossfade line of headsets and the microphone of the Logitech G533. Combined...it just meshes really well and performs excellent. It is incredibly comfortable right out of the package. The microphone is a little sensitive but comes across extremely clear. Playing Apex Legends, my squad mates were surprised that I was using a wireless headset. The headset sounds incredible albeit I wish it had just a tad more volume to it. I’m used to it though as I have my Cloud Flights volume maxed out and these are near identical with the exception of sounding better. I could hear little details and pinpoint enemy locations with ease. It’s a well balanced sound with decent bass and clear mods and highs. Also simple plug and play with my PS4 Pro. Plug the usb dongle in and it’s recognized instantly. I highly recommend this headset if you don’t mind the price.

I have tried a lot of different headphones. These ones are a fantastic customisable lights and Still work. If you don’t have charge just use the aux cable. Highly recommend for gaming works well with PlayStation five and can plug into your iPad if you have a USB adapter

This is not a $180 headset. I've owned both the Turtle Beach Elite 800 and the Astro A50. This headset far exceeds the E800 and is every bit as good as the A50, but at almost half the cost.The boom mic is auto-muting on flip up, just like the A50, but the mic doesn't pick up your breathing like the A50.The sound quality is comparable to the A50, but I feel the surround sound on this headset is better. This headset does not have Bluetooth or near as many sound presets as the E800, but you're sacrificing those for far superior sound and mic quality. That said this does support gaming, movie, and music presets, and comes with an 8mm audio cable, it's short, about 1M.You CAN use the headset completely wireless with PC, PS4, and XBOX with the included USB dongle, it's plug and play. You do not need to plug it into your controller, although you can if you want. Please note that on the PS4 you have to use the front USB ports, the rear one doesn't recognize.Mic background noise cancelation is comparable to the A50, not great, not terrible. User noise cancelation far exceeds the A50 and is comparable to the E800 when it's IN its cancelation mode, even though this doesn't have one.Finally, comfort. This is hands down the most comfortable headset I've ever used, and it isn't close. While the E800 and A50 are both comfortable for long play periods, you may as well not even be wearing a headset with this one. It really is that comfortable, from the ear cups, which are literally memory foam, to the headband, which is seemingly foam filled vynil. I've worn these for 12 hour gaming sessions and they feel like I've just put them on 12 hours in.

I bought this headset for work as i wanted something comfortable with good sound isolation as i use it for tele-conferencing, especially during Covid restrictions.Set up was quick and speedy, and it works well with both my Windows 10 laptop and iMac.Took a while to configure the settings on the Mac as the AW driver is only for Windows, but eventually i got it to work wirelessly for the Mac as well.The headset is extremely comfortable, sits well on my head and over my ears and the angular design of the ear-cups is brilliant. the tension in the head-band is also minimal as it did not lead to any aches after about 4 hours continuous use.Overall, i am very pleased with this headset and am glad that i did not have to fork out 450+ for a high-end Bose or Sony headset with similar functionality.
