610 Pure Bristle Shaving Brush Red

It's as soft, if not softer than some of my high-end badger brushes, but has more exfoliating scrub to help prevent in-grown hairs. It gets better the more you use it, but I'm rating it this positively even before it has reached its peak performance because it's good even now. It has some trouble holding a large amount of lather due to its size, but It will hold more as the hairs split. I didn't mind going back to the soap because lathering was such a joy.If you just want something functional that will get the job done without fuss, I would get a synthetic brush, but if you want something that makes you excited to wake up and shave, then I would recommend this and a high-quality badger brush to rotate between. This can best be described as a toy for adults! Do Keep in mind that it's mainly for face lathering though, as it seems to be specifically constructed to do that. I'm sure you could bowl lather with it, but you would be missing many of the benefits a brush like this is meant to provide.

I did as one reviewer mentioned and washed this brush with a little dish soap, rinsed it and mixed up a lather of shaving soap and let the brush sit in it 24 hrs. And If I didn't know better I would think I was using a Badger brush to apply my shave cream! As it is really soft and easy to manage. A word of caution!! I used the "ROSE" GEO F Trumpers to let the brush soak in 24 hrs. And it did give the bristles a red tinge! I hope it comes out!! No doubt leaving the brush in the lather which is kinda of a pink color for such a long time dyed them a rose color. But as to the Rose GEO F Trumpers as a shave soap. It is a great soap and the lather is wonderful. And I have had no problems with it tinting other brushes I use to lather with. So don't let my experience put you off on buying the product. Just don't use it to season your bore hair brush!

I ordered this brush because I read on a couple of forums that it was really good for face lathering. I could not produce enough lather for a second pass. I put plenty of soap on but still no luck. Many people love Semogue brushes, this 610 in particular, but it seems they don't really work well until they are fully broken in. That seems to require at least 30 shaves. I'll stick with Omega brushes that work great right out of the box.

I greatly prefer this over my prior badger brush. The extra stiffness of the bristles makes loading and face lathering work better for me. I like the plain coloring of these bristles compared to the fake dye jobs that many boar brushes have to make them look like badger brushes. It does take a couple of months to fully break in, but once it is you’ve got a brush you will really enjoy using. It rarely loses bristles, which I believe is an indication of the high quality of this brush.

Great boar brush! still shedding a few hairs every now and then which is a little disappointing (why I am not giving it 5 stars). Excellent for face lathering hard soaps. Took a few weeks to get into full bloom but totally worth it.

A little small but looks and works great. Why spend a lot of money on a shaving brush when you can have this for nominal price?

It's a nice brush. I use it mostly for soaps.
