GREAT REPLACEMENT FOR SANYO
This works GREAT for my Sanyo split system ductless wall unit. I was skeptical if this universal RC would work with my Sanyo AC/heat Pump unit. Some answers to my question posted here suggested it would not. However it works GREAT as replacement for OEM Sanyo Sanyo RCS-4HVPIS4U remote control that originally came with the wall unit. I received the unit earlier than the estimated delivery date. I was initially concerned because the instruction pamphlet was not obvious to be seen in the plastic blister packaging, however after some deeper looking, i saw that the paper card in the package is actually a two fold card and inside was the small paper of instructions. The set up was actually easy after installing the 2 AAA batteries that came with the unit. For my model [Sanyo] I used "A Swing" key, then manually input the code by using the "temperature up" button, the instructions actually specified for Sanyo to use code "500" , "550" or "680" however as I scrolled up with the temp button, I heard the unit beep and turn on at code "544" so I set it at "544" and checked all functions and it works fine. Believe it ot not the only slight confusion for me was switching the temperature display from Celsius to Fahrenheit which I eventually read the way to do that is press and hold the OK button for 6 seconds. I am VERY happy with this unit, A website offered a universal replacement for around $79.. this was a 10th of that cost and it works fine. Apparently most Sanyo OEM remotes are no longer available and this HQRP unit is a great alternative. I recommend it for other Sanyo and other brand split systems

Worked on 1 out of 3 AC units
Not sure if the receivers are broken on the AC units itself, but remote only worked on 1 out of 3 units.

Works Well, but No Temp Sensor in Remote
Works as a replacement to my Sanyo RCS-KS09 remote and allows me to turn the Split AC unit on/off and set temperature, fan speed, mode. BUT my unit requires a temperature sensor in the remote to sense the room temperature and send a signal to the AC unit to turn it off when the desired temperature is reached. The HQRP A/C Remote Control does not have an internal sensor, and so the A/C stays on forever until you manually turn it of. Newer units have the temperature sensor built into the AC unit itself, so it's not a problem for them. If you set it at night in your bedroom, you wake up to a freezing cold room in the morning, and ultimately, a more expensive electric bill.

Very good A/C remote
I rate this air conditioner remote control with 4 out of 5 stars because in the package and in the item description it says that it has a back-light feature. Well, it does not. What it does have is a "light" key that when pressed, turns a white LED making the remote work as a flashlight. That is good, but the actual LCD screen remains dark. All in all, it is a great value item.

Connects to my Sanyo unit
Works great and I am grateful to an earlier reviewer who explained how to go through the numbers to get to the right number for the remote to connect to my air conditioning unit. I haven't got all the functions, though, and I don't know it that is because my air conditioning unit does not have the bells and whistles required or because I still havn't completely programmed it. But it allows me to turn my unit on and off and increase or decrease the fan volume, without getting on a stool, and that is worth a lot to me.

It works, I'm happy
I love this thing. I have a split Sanyo A/C and somehow the remote got damage, anyway I went online to buy a replacement remote and to my suprise it costs $179.00. Someone recommended a universal remote so I gave it a shot, its not a lot of money. I'm so happy I purchased this cause it works and I haven't tried all the functions but I just wanted a cheap replacement. It turns on and it turns off, I can also change the temp from the remote and thats all I need:) I couldn't change the temp or fan speed without a remote. Again great control, if anyone has any questions about this product ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Surpriced
Although my SANYO A/C is seven years old the HQRP remote managed to get in contact with it. Since the code was not one of those mentioned for SANYO-NEC the remote had to slowly search among the 1000 codes which took a few minutes. However, this is something you only need to do once. Everything seems to work OK, but the real test comes later, with the winter.

Does not work with my Samsung Window Units
After trying all the 1000 codes (from 000 to 999) without success, it was reasonable for me to conclude that this device failed to control my Samsung Window Unit air conditioners. I'm not sure of their model numbers but I bought one in 1999 and the other in 2003. The original remote control for the two units were different in shape and size but were compatible with each other. I bought the HQRP universal remote control specifically for these units as the membrane keys on them have since been defective. The device however worked with my LG window unit AC which I bought in 2009 and my Samsung Split Unit ACs which I bought in 2010. Is it that the device does not work with older models of AC?I can not contemplate returning the remote control as this will cost me so much more than the cost of the device itself.
