DuPont WFFMC303X Ultra Protection 200-Gallon Faucet Mount Water Filtration Cartridge,3 pack

I moved to an area that treated their water heavily with chlorine and noticed the water tasted terrible. The chlorine smell was very noticeable and effected my skin. I found that chlorine can cause dry, itchy skin exacerbate ashthma and it's not healthy to ingest. I installed a Sprite water filter in my shower and there was an amazing difference.I wanted a faucet mount filter because I was renting and couldn't install a whole house filter. The filter had to be reasonable in price along with replacements and not have added minerals. I tried the Pur but didn't like the taste of added minerals. I found the Dupont water filter at Walmart. It's a four stage filter, where as some of the Pur and Brita only have a 2-3 stage filter. This means it filters out more types of contaminates. The 200 gal filter is great, inexpensive lasts a long time with no leaking. I bought the Dupont faucet mount filter with digital indicator so I know when it needs changing. I noticed that as the filter starts to age the flow starts slowing down. I've been using these filters for ten years and the water tastes good from beginning to end of filter life. As long as you are somewhat gentle with the faucet mount you can easily get about five years or more out of them. The digital indicator does wear out because you can't change the battery.

I am on a community water source, so I do not, or at least should not, require the removal of many of the things these filters are used for, such as mercury, cysts, and asbestos. However it does do an excellent job of removing chlorine taste and odor. It also has a fast flow rate, better than their competitors, while costing much less, even 50% less. I use mine with a DuPont WFFM350XCH metered water filter, which is almost a necessity with such large capacity cartridges, so you can keep an exact gallon count, none of that "green light red light" mess of their competitors.One thing which may make DuPont filters stand out is their focus on reducing heavy metals which may be of great interested if you live in an older home. I've tried most of the other filters that you attach to your kitchen faucet and because we have really good water pressure they've all leaked at some point. The Dupont filter hasn't and I've been using them for 2 years now. I bought the original filter system at Walmart, but as some other reviewers have noted, you can't always find them locally. I purchased these on Amazon and buying 3 at one time was cheaper than buying just one.As far as how effective this filtering system is, without it, there's a slight after taste to the water here in St. Louis. I never noticed it until I moved away for 3 years and then returned. With the filter, I can't taste it. It was worse when we lived in Avon Park, Florida where the water had a distinctive nasty taste to us. Again, this filtration system all but removed that strange after taste.Pros: Easy to install, doesn't leak even with higher water pressures, does a good job of eliminating after tasteCons: Only lasts 100 or 200 gallons depending on the size you buy. Cartridges aren't always available at local stores. Can get costly unless you buy cartridges in multiples.I've tried PUR and Brita and both leaked. The Dupont filter hasn't.

OK, it filters water. What else can I say about it? It does a good job. It does what it was designed to do, no issues. I have read on here that some people say they are somewhat different than what came with the filter housing unit. Something about the "200" showing on the cartridge being in bold font. I see no difference. It looks identical to what came with the housing originally. The price is very reasonable also. The cost for the three pack of the 200 gallon filters is only a couple dollars more than Wal-Mart's online price for the three pack of the 100 gallon filters. Good luck finding these at Wal-Mart where I bought the unit, they don't have the 200 gallon filters. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. A great product at a great price. Way to go DuPont and Amazon.

Been using these filters for years without issue. Easy to install. My local tap water has a bit more hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) in it than I'd prefer, and this filter takes that right out. I'd also like to thank the seller for letting me know where they dropshipped from so I can get the filters for 20% less next time.

So Far This AWESOME DuPont Water Filter Has Filled 90 Gallons Of GREAT Tasting Water!In The Past Years, I Have Used Four Other Brands and Always Found The SIGNAL That I Was ToSTOP and CHANGE The Filter INOPERABLE After A Short Time. So Far So Good With This Unit!It Was Easy To Install and Looks Lovely~If It Should Become A Disappointment Also ... I WILL WRITE ANOTHER REVIEW IN THE NEGATIVE!Until Then, I Really LOVE IT!

This was perfect. Exactly what i needed. It filtered the sediment and made my water taste like bottled water. I put a little label with the date to show when it is time to change. Very inexpensive way to filter your water without the crazy pitcher

I had a lot of problems with the PUR brand not mounting well to our faucet and leaking profusely. The DuPont unit mounts and seals with no troubles, looks nice, is sturdy, and the filters last about three months and produce water with better flavor - removes sulfur smell/taste very well.
