Does the 10oz. Silicone require purchasing a special caulk gun? I was previously shipped tubes made of metal with pull tap opening like on a soup can

I was concerned as well but it has an internal plastic follower cup that a traditional caulking gun presses against: Similar to the traditional caulk tube. The additional metal seal helps to prolong the storage of the adhesive sealant.

Has anyone tried mixing a color pigment into the glue before application? Will this effect the cure?

I have not and can only advise you give 3M support line a call and ask them and if you can I am sure they will tell you which coloring to use. I would not just mix in any color you don't know how the glue will react to it. Give 3M a call I am sure they will be glad to help.

Yes it will. Allow five days to cure. Don’t use the fast cure.

Absolutely good poly calk

When you need a product that you can absolutely count on 3M 5200 is the product to spec out. Excellent bonding, unparalleled longevity and available in multiple colors. It performs in adverse conditions, but,,,, if it's going to be exposed to direct sun, paint it, it accepts paint quite well
