I don't know if these archival safe pens have a shelf life, but this pen dried up within moments of being opened from a sealed packet. It came all the way from the USA and took a fairly long time to arrive, so all in all this was not a good buy.

Crisp, black colours. Extremely dark. Great pen. My son who draws a lot says it's his favourite.
