In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, Perseus and his warriors will only survive if Perseus accepts his power as a god, defies fate and creates his own destiny.

Very good remake. The original has some very memorable scenes and this one updates them very well. Good action you'd expect from the mythical Gods movie sect. Well done.

If you like Greek Mythology you will love this movie. The CGI was great.

Remake of a 1981 classic, but nowhere near as good
Having first seen the original version at the cinema at the age of 10, i thought i would check this outsadly, special effects and tough guy action nonsense seem to have replaced any decent storyline. In an attempt to be politically correct, the original story of hero falls in love with princess, solves riddle and rescues her has been completely sidelined in favour of some random woman who Perseus meets who fights alongside him!The lead role is played by Sam Worthington (Avatar) who does a lot of fighting but not much else! The gods of olympus are reduced to just Zeus (and confusingly Hades who was never in the original). Key parts of the story are here but often in the wrong context or order! sadly, the mechanical owl Bubo from the 1981 film is relegated to a brief scene at the beginning where Perseus is told to "ignore it"People who have never seen the original of "Clash of the Titans" may enjoy this but fans of the original will be very disappointed

Better than I expected
This film was roundly slated at the time of release and I suspect a lot of people would have avoided it for that reason. Watching the film now, it's good entertainment admittedly a no-brainer fantasy/action movie. The original had an inventive charm with the stop motion but I enjoyed this modern update and also just how keen Sam Worthington was to perform the stunts (see the extras). I'm not convinced he is much more than competent in the lead role here but he looks the part. Look out for the trailers for "Wrath of the Titan's" where he has ditched the cropped hair for a bubble cut mullet, it's likely more historically accurate a style but I'm not convinced it suits him. This is an easy to watch film and the special effects somehow look better in 2D rather than 3D aside from the weird uber-glow of the gods armour, it looks better in the extras as just highly polished metal. The deleted scenes are interesting as there is one scene lead by Zeus which was also filmed with a different character.

Not as bad as expected
Amazing CGI, but lacks any plot subtlety or character. There are too many 'Heroes' - I lost track of them - then they were slaughtered anyway! Why the rather old Australian was cast is a mystery - he was handsome and agile, but he lacked any kind of warmth - frankly I would have flattened him had I been Zeus. And that nice Liam Nielsen lumbered with a silly beard and portentous lines... A lot of opportunity missed in the god to god relationships so notorious in ancient times. And why plunder the Norse myths for the Kraken when Greek myth has a vast array of monsters. Interesting to see the Gorgon based on Typhon [ Half human , half serpent] but wasn't she supposed to be ugly? ENjoy it for the good things! Up Zeus! Down Hades!

Bad quality dvd
Poor quality, black and white almost. I couldn't return as this was for my father who lives away from me who ordered the product and we're in lockdown.
