This goes to 0.5 MM, which is 5 micrometers.

Q: Can this replace a metal blade in a combination square? i'm a novice diy woodworker

No. The combination squares I'm familiar with typically have a channel that runs the length of the rule which is provided to allow it to be locked into place when adjusted as desired. This rule does not have that channel.

Q: Is this really sand blasted finish? I am looking for a ruler wirh zero glare to be able to see it easily

Here is the Shinwa scale on top of another brand I bought at the same time. The Shinwa definitely has a non glare finish. I did move them around so you can compare for yourself. Additionally, the Shinwa model has stayed flat and the edges while being sharp are smoother to the touch - the other rulers edge seems almost sharp enough to cut if you ran it across your hand. I don’t think you will be dissapppointed in the Shinwa,
