SF Nonfiction Books Complete Vortex Control Self-Defense: Hand to Hand Combat, Knife Defense, and Stick Fighting

This is more of a supplemental than a full program.
This book is is really good to flush out your existing style. I use the stance movement techniques in here to supplement my existing martial arts training. The stick fighting section is exceptional and a welcome addition to my style. This being said there are several issues with the book. Namely the interesting choice of visual aides and pictures. They are ok but you can tell they were done by a close friend of the author and that the artist specializes in anime drawing. The pictures themselves are good and accurately illustrate the movements. The author is clearly a competent and practicing martial artist and/or gym/dojo owner. I would say that while he is a professional he may not be a master. When learning new martial arts I would stick with texts from award winning martial artists, boxers, ect. as well as texts from militaries' self-defense training. This should be used as a supplemental that can provide extra techniques and insight from a professional fighter in relation to the relevant styles he pulled from.

not worth the money
Alot of wording of the same things over and over, no real photo/drawings. Explaination of moves is very weak and hard to comprehend.
