This is authentic cholla wood as advertised, but it is NOT slim, long pieces like in the photos. You will get five short and thick pieces. I’m using them for my aquarium, so the shape doesn’t really affect me much, but if you’re using this for a spider enclosure or some kind of craft it might not be what you’re looking for.

Read the instructions before putting in your fish tank! I did not read the instructions and just put the cholla wood in my aquarium. Big mistake! The cholla wood has dirt and other debris in the wood. I immediately took the cholla wood out of my aquarium, but I still had a mess to clean up. You need to clean the cholla wood by soaking it in boiling water. This cleans the wood and makes sure the cholla wood sinks in your aquarium.After I followed the instructions, I was able to place the cholla wood in my aquarium and I love the aesthetic the cholla wood adds to my tank. My African dwarf frogs love to hide behind the wood or stand on top to “meditate.”

These look great in my tanks! I boiled them for about 12 hours and then scrubbed them with a toothbrush and then boiled once again and they sank right away. They have been in the tanks for about a month now.
