I have a four-year-old grandson who loves animals of all kinds. Right now his passion is birds. I ordered these so he could learn the names of some birds and so he could play with them to supplement a DVD we have about birds. He loves them, but I knew he would. We have purchased several sets of TOOBs to feed his love of animals and are never disappointed in them or in the larger Safari animals. They are a quality product. They are sturdy enough to play with, realistically colored, and visually correct to aid in identification. TOOBs will continue to be a staple in our toy budget as long as he is passionate about animals

Gave these to my bird-loving son for his 6th birthday, and he loves them. They come out to play often. ;) He likes to act out scenes with them (with me), or he likes to take 6 of them and pair them up and then make me guess which 6 are now "mates." :) They are well made and have nicely saturated coloring. For a toy this price, I have no complaints about the details of each - and we certainly can tell which bird is which. We started adding more (schleich, actually) to expand our play.

Wow these are perfect. We are planning to use them as a Montessori matching activity with our daughter. I will take photos of them and print them out on cardstock, laminate them, and then she can match the birds to the cards. I can teach her the names of the birds and we can watch for them around our home. They are so intricately painted and the perfect size. Very well made and well executed - and cheap! Purchased to fill large eggs for an Easter egg hunt. They fit nicely and the children were pleased! They recognized what kind of bird they "hatched"

These little birds are perfect for my birdseed sensory bin. My preschoolers have a great time hiding them and finding them in the seed. Typical great quality and the durability I’ve come to expect from the Toobs brand.

This is by far my favorite TOOB I have ever purchased. They definitely traded quantity for quality with this one. Yes, you only get 7 as opposed to their usual 11 or so but they are MUCH larger, much more durable (not bendy like the others), and the details are better. Still majorly over priced but that's true for all the TOOBS

Have gotten many sets of this brand of animals, birds, etc. for my grandson. He loves them and plays with them daily. They hold up great to lots of play and have never lost their color. Color doesn't peal off or anything.

Got these for bird watching and nest building on the topic of British Birds that we find in our gardens. The size are fine but I should of checked them more carefully because some of the colours are garish and bright more like tropical birds, so maybe backyard birds is a bit misleading. I guess it depends on what country you come from! Not UK colours.... However the children enjoyed playing with them and making nests to put them into. You are very limited it you don't want to spend loads and these are good value.
