Faulty unit maybe? But works well once figured out
Ok - this PTS system is fully installed and functioning well in my 2005 Crown Vic. I am officially keyless now. However, it wasn’t an easy install like it should have been. This unit has TWO ignition outputs, and 1 accessory output. I feel it should have a 3rd programmable output, because some cars have 3 ignition wires, or 2 accessory wires. My car has 3 ignition wires, 1 accessory. I had to use a dual-relay setup to add the 3rd ignition wire and use one of the two outputs as the trigger for them, no big deal, no fault of the unit. However, after to my knowledge wiring everything up correctly, having my actual key close enough to the PATS security system sensor so it could read the chip, my car would not crank with the PTS system.Come to find out, one of the two ignition outputs do not get power when it would crank. So when it would be “on” my whole car would appear as normal, before you start it. Once I would press the brake and button, it would not crank and my dash would re-animate like I just turned the key back on which was weird.Had to wire all three ignition wires to ONE output on this unit that gets 12v while cranking.Aside from that, I have a few suggestions for the manufacturer.1. Make the RFID antenna a bit stronger. I have it directly behind a thin piece of plastic, and I have to play with the RFID tag everytime because it’s so weak.2. Add a another output wire and be able to designate it either a 3rd ignition output, or 2nd accessory output.3. Separate LEDs in the button, when the button is illuminated, it’s just a couple LEDs lit up together and there’s color bleed. It would be cool to have the button light up, and then when the cars on, or ignition on, have the LED in the middle light up like most PTS systems.4. Have the button steadily illuminated when the car is in accessory, or “on” mode. Before it’s “started” the button just flashes like a strobe light. Annoying as hell when it’s dark.5. Have an option to go from the engine running, to shutting the ignition off, and keeping accessories on, with this system, once the engine is running, the next step is completely off. Same with having it in accessory mode; once you’re done and want to turn it off, you have to hit it once which turns the car “on” and activates wipers, heat/ac, and automatic headlights, and then press again to turn it off.

Would be very nice if it worked as described
This has the potential to be a great product. I purchased it to avoid having to replace a defective ignition switch on my 2007 Honda Civic. The old switch was getting hard to turn with the key. My plan was to cut off the key in the ON position to disable the steering lock and deactivate the disabler, and install the push button over the keyhole. The push button could then be used to place of the key to cycle through the OFF-ACC-ON states and activate the starter when pressed with the brake pedal. The item's wiring diagram was clear and I was able to tap the wires into the correct wires without a problem.Unfortunately the starter did not work as described. It cycled through OFF-ACC-ON inconsistently: sometimes pressing the starter button advanced the car to the next state, sometimes it didn't. When I tried to start the car by connecting the green brake wire to power while pressing the starting button, the car started, but the starter was not disengaged after the button was released. I had to stop the car by pulling out the wiring plug from the unit, pressing the starter button again did not turn the car off. The next time I tried to start the car, the unit smoked. From then on, connecting the wiring plug to the unit activated the starter. I'm returning the unit and hoping that I did not harm my car's starter.I suspect that I received a faulty unit because the other reviewers have given this product good feedback.

Function follows form..
It's a real struggle for me to give this thing 4 stars. If to the finished product wasn't as functional or clean looking, I'd have given it 1 star. The materials - The cheapest possible. 14g wire wrapped in enough insulation to pass for 10g. The plugs, which are reminiscent of what you'd find in a Tandy or vintage Atari, are so poorly formed that one of mine is in there for life. The case is very flimsy and actually started to separate when I pushed the misshaped plugs in. It's also very poorly laid out with two flimsy tabs for screws... But one of them is directly below one of the plugs, so it's useless... Mount it with a zip tie. The saving grace is the actual start button... The one you see on the dash.. It's clean sleek and fit with almost no effort. The directions - Throw them away, they're barely English.But.... The bottom line, it works well and it looks great.

Intermittent starting
Great item it does what's expected of it, installation wasn't too strenuous if you can read and locate a wire diagram for your specific vehicle. The reason for the three stars is because, on real hot days and I do not know why, but on hot days the button doesn't want to start the car. It's the weirdest thing ever lol. I may remove it before the winter hits and put it in my project car just for the look.
