Pearson Education Limited Edexcel AS/A Level Psychology Student Book + ActiveBook

This book is hefty (588 pages) but it does contain the complete year one and two of AS/A level and includes all second year modules.As a teacher I like how every chapter is a module/topic and in there you get mini sections on the research methods, key questions, practicals and issues and debates which allows you to create an effective teaching strategy. It has knowledge checks and a nice glossary section and also has an online book - while one person said the code does not work, mine is from the 2015 book (the last edition) and i can still login and use it today, and i can add notes to the online book which is useful.This book is a nice overview, without being too complex like another set of texts for this spec and i would highly recommend it to teachers of the spec and students.

I used this textbook for AS Psychology and did not take Psychology for A2, so I can only really review the first half of this textbook. The book was very helpful and covered nearly everything that I needed for my exams (one or two pieces of info were either absent or not in enough detail for my exams but this was minor and there have been complaints that the 2018 exams asked stuff not on the spec so this may not be the author’s fault). Everything is explained very well and I am glad that I bought this book. I am especially grateful it includes how to calculate statistics because I am useless at them! My one criticism is that the book can sometimes waffle on a bit and could have done with a little trimming down (it’s ginormous, although granted it does cover two years’ worth of material). However, if you are using this to learn a new topic this can benefit you as everything is explained very well and in detail. This helped me because my teacher was pretty useless, and I basically taught myself with this book. If you are going to bring this to school with you every day, you’ll definitely have a sore back by the end of the week! This was the only book I used for exam revision and I felt that it was sufficient. Have already recommended this textbook to friends studying psychology next year at AS and A2.

This was supposed to have been used but it was in absolutely pristine condition and it is the one my daughter uses at college for her Btec. Fantastic.

Brought this for my daughter who is studying Psychology at A level.

Bought for son doing his a levels back in September 2018, actual book ok but son didn't realise the online activebook online code expired 31/01/18. So I paid full price for a brand new book that didn't do what was advertised as it was already out of date when i bought it, following an online chat with customer services today who initially offered me a refund it went too a 2nd then a 3rd customer service operator saying it wasn't policy and shouldn't have been offered. We were unable to send it back as my son has written all his a level notes in already. If you buy to use online active onlinebook check expiry date and send straight back as otherwise you will be in the same positon as us.
