Great Book
This book is very detailed about a few studies that were done over children from high risk areas and how they many of them over came the struggles of their childhood unscathed and with many valuable lessons learned while growing up and how it helped them in their adult lives.

Not just for clinicians.
A therapist recommended this book to assist me in determining if I was skilled enough to take into my home a young girl whose mother is deceased and whose father is incarcerated. The book was extremely beneficial to me in this matter. Girl turns out to have the three things in place to allow her to "play a poor hand well".

This is an excellent book. Although focused on children and adults with Learning Disabilities (I prefer the term Learning Differences) it can be a model for life in general. I highly recommend it.

All you must know about learning disabilities.
If you are learning disabled, if you know a child who is learning disabled, if you know an adult who is learning disabled, this book will teach you all you need to know to understand the suffering a learning disability creates. At the same time, the book provides tales of inspiration and lots of practical advice. A must read on this subject.
