I wanted something I could use to extract a sample of homebrew from my 30l bin without having to take the top off and expose the brew to the atmosphere. This allows me to insert a tube through the airlock hole and draw off enough to use in the hydrometer. It is also useful for squirting sterilising fluid around the bin before use.
