PureBitesChicken Jerky Dog Treats, 1 Ingredient, Made in Canada, 11.3oz

I have bought this locally, but the supply is very unreliable at the only pet store that (sometimes) has it in stock, so I tried Amazon, and was pleased to see I could get it a little less expensively. The only downside is that it was shipped in a slightly bubble-padded manila envelope. The contents were pulverized, so that it looks more like cereal than crunchy strips of chicken jerky. The product itself acts like a toothbrush for my dog after her meals. It's the closest thing to a bone without all the hassles that bones bring with them. I really like that it is a one-ingredient product, with no preservatives or glycerin added. Good stuff, but really needs a box for shipment. I'd by it by the case if it were available,

We use this brand a lot for treats for a diabetic pup. My dogs LOVE these jerky treats but they are very, very crunchy. Probably not great for older pups.

My 15yo beagle loves these treats, but is having a hard time chewing some of them. For a younger dog with strong teeth probably not an issue. I wish they could be made thinner and more consistently sized without the razor sharp points. I believe I'm on my 4th bag, my first bag was almost my last, as the sharp points actually tore holes in the bag, which was mostly small broken pieces. I've never had any mold issues, some of the pieces do have dark areas which I believe happen during the dehydration process.I switched to these because it's just chicken, no glycerin, cane sugar or other unnecessary additives. I don't mind the crunch, sounds like she is eating potato chips, but the really thick pieces are impossible to break apart. I would recommend them, until I find a similar alternative that's easier to break apart.

I have a small Yorkie (about 5 pounds). Their teeth aren't very strong because their support for those teeth is so small. I buy these chicken strips because it helps get her teeth clean and there are no other ingredients in them. Big plusses. One minus. The past 2 out of 3 packages I bought are so "well done" I can hardly break them small enough for her. I'm not sure if it's the outlet, or if they are "rejects" for the market at large. I want to continue with this product, but I'd like to know how I can more consistently get pieces less dried. These packages the meat is really dark and hard. The one which really worked for me was slightly tanned and breakable. Any suggestions for me? As it is, I cannot use this package for the dog because I cannot break it up small enough and they are too hard for her to chew.

I'm pretty much in love with this company, although I don't favor some of their duck and chicken dehydrated treats because those just fall apart. These are excellent for breaking into smaller pieces and using as training treats. Sometimes parts of them get too tough to do that for but I think for the money and health value, this type of treat (training or as a 2 second chew) is my go-to from now on.

If your dog likes them, enough said.

ONE INGREDIENT...I mean c'mon! Most of these jerky treats have sugar, sodium and loads of her ingredients I can't pronounce, so these seemed like a dream come true and the price was so good. The quality is consistent and I felt good giving them to my pup. The only problem is that the treats are very hard, not a problem for my dog to eat but they left little hard crumbs wherever my dog ate one so that was a little annoying but a small price to pay!

my dog loves the chicken flavor, however didnt care for the beef flavor.Will be donating the beef and will be only ordering the chicken.

Brand new sealed bag, I opened it and gave my Minature Schnaunzer 1 piece and off she went to eat it. I happened to look inside the bag before closing and noticed some black on a piece, took all pieces out and found many pieces were blackened, some quite a lot. It appears to be mold. Too late for my girl as she had devoured it already, she loves these and we have had no problems in the past. I hoped she would be okay but in the middle of the night she was crying & barking to wake me then rushed to the door to be let out. She had several bouts of diarrhea over the next few hours and vomited once from eating only 1 piece! I'm very concerned what else is wrong with this product besides the mold. Expiry date said 2023. Amazon was great and refunded us right away and sent a new bag. But we won't be using this product or any other from this company again. Trust is gone forever when my dog's health has been compromised!***Update November 6, 2020***I called the PureBites company the day after our dog got sick and left a detailed message. NO call back to date! On October 26, 2020 I sent a detailed email message to PureBites customer service (rec'd confirmation of delivery) and here we are on November 6 and NO response from this company to our phone call or email. Obviously they don't care and I hope everyone reading this will not purchase anything from this company!

I was expecting it to have the smell of the smaller quantities I purchased till then, however it did not. My puppy does not touch it, only the cats now and then, however I have to break it in small pieces so that the inside flavour comes to be sensed. It does not smell like chicken at all, more like motor oil...The company was kind enough and refunded it.

They arrived all moldy!! Thankfully Amazon was able to issue a refund but please beware of the quality of the product. 5stars to amazon and 0stars to purebites

Jerky to me is soft, this productDry,very hard and when you break it it is brittle.Would not recommend for small dogs. This not for my dogs.Would not buy again.Gave away.

Fed this to my pets. Within 24 hours both were clearly suffering from abdominal distress. Needless to say, I had quite the mess to clean up.Can't even return the product, so much for satisfaction guaranteed.Do yourself a favour and avoid this brand like the plague. If you check reviews on their other products they clearly have quality control issues.
