Great aftermarket product!
Like others, I was hesitant to purchase an aftermarket hard drive for my "original" xbox 360 (not the 360 Slim). The original 20GB hard drive was filled and I could no longer download games. So, I looked at several drives: the Microsoft 120GB drive for $200, and this drive, but less than half the price and with 250GB. I looked at previous reviews and decided to take the plunge. I should note I did buy an original Microsoft transfer cable, and in addition, I made sure my Xbox 360 had the latest firmware by updating it on Xbox live. It was literally plug and play. I removed the old hard drive, and installed the new drive. Note that some users mentioned having to "force it in" as the fit wasn't perfect. Thanks for the head's up on this! I had the same issue - I looked at the bottom connection on the hard drive and the entire male pin connection on the drive is ever so slightly skewed . I actually gently straightened the assembly (there is some play in it) so it ran perfectly parallel with the rest of the drive. There is a little bit of "play" here, but be careful not to damage the drive. Once I did this, it fit in perfectly, just like the original drive and didn't need to be forced into the slot. So, with the new drive installed I decided to do the transfer. With the Xbox off, I attached the transfer cable to the old hard drive and USD end of the transfer cable to the Xbox 360. Then, I turned the unit on and the Xbox immediately recognized the drive and the transfer cable. It gives you two options: transfer from the consol or to the consol. So, obviously I wanted to transfer it to the consol (as that's where the new drive is) - sorry, I realize this may seem obvious but if you reverse this by accident, there is a chance you could reformat your original drive, and all of your data will be lost. The transfer of 12GB took about 20 minutes. After that, I turned on the new Xbox unit and started playing. So far so good! I've only played Xbox 360 games so far, and have only had the drive for a day, but the transfer went well with no debugging needed. The drive is quiet, in fact, I started downloading the actual games onto the drive to run it from the hard drive vs. the optical disc - it's much quiter vs. the constant disc spinning (also one of the reasons I bought the drive). Beware though, that you still need to have the disc in the unit if you are going to play the game. It will actually run the game from the hard drive but you can't initialize it without having the disc in the unit. One of the measures likely taken to prevent pirating. So, I highly recommend this product (so far). If I encounter any issues / unit failures I'll update my review, but for now, everything went smoothly as if it was an original MS product!

Redefined gameplay
When I had first starting researching various Xbox 360 accessories to upgrade my original white xbox 360 that has only an internal memory of like 512 MB and won't let you store even a single background theme on your dashboard if you have ever saved a single game on there I decided that instead of constantly running back and forth to the store to buy video games I would much more prefer to just download the microsoft points and purchase and download whichever game I choose directly on to my consoles hard drive. Only problem being was that not only did my console not have a hard drive but also did not have a built in wifi. Honestly I do not care much about the entire gold membership ordeal I mean yeah sure if you want to play with or against your friends online than perhaps those are important to you but for me not so much. I had searched almost every single website in regards to this 250 GB hard drive and I found so many various products ranging in price anywhere from $70+ about I guess. Now after viewing the hard drive on the actual microsoft website and seeing the price for not only it but also the date transfer cable and then going back to view all of the others I had found and also reading each according review I felt extremely hesitant and unsure from whom to order this product from. After narrowing it down to like three companies I thought to myself okay well most of them are more expensive because most people need that data transfer cable and at first I thought it may not be a bad thing to have but shortly I decided that I did not even need it since for one my xbox 360 does not even have a hard drive installed and all I would have to do is stick this one in and transfer my gamer profiles, games, etc. to it. Now I had read the reviews of one that came from a certain company and although some reviews for good some were not insisting that the product was not brand new or was a generic after market version and some xbox 360 games will not work on it etc. I really felt like well am I about to waste this money on an item that once received I will be extremely disappointed and have to spend numerous days arguing to have it returned and my money reimbursed. Than I found this product. It had had only two reviews underneath and to be quite honest the product specs. and info was the exact same as this other company I for sure was in no way going to order anything from. The reviews did not help me one bit but after deciding that I just cannot beat this price and convincing myself that it must work I mean how could it not. Also not to mention that I have never in my life experienced a single issue from having ordering products from amazon so I went for it. A long with a ton of microsoft points and an ethernet cable to run from my console directly to my router for the time being since I did not want to blow another $50 on a Wireless Network Adapter which I plan on purchasing immediately since I cannot stand having a 50 ft cable running through a bunch of rooms on the floor because it must have been so unbelievably difficult for microsoft to install a wifi into the actual xbox 360 original console but oh well that is another topic. Regardless I needed this hard drive right away and since I got it for $41 which in comparison to all of the other product listings on amazon and so many other websites I either thought I am getting an extremely amazing deal or I am being completely ripped off. I paid for the 2nd day air shipping and ordered it on the 10th of june which was a saturday, the order was shipped monday the 13th and I received it on the 15th. Another thing that made me very hesitant was the fact that it says something like "Does not come in original package to cut down on the shipping costs for you" or something and I am thinking okay again just not sure what to think. Finally it arrives after I have been tracking the package all day waiting for it to come in. I open it up and unwrap it and to me it looks in brand new condition and a huge tension is relieved. I shut my xbox 360 off, take the plastic cover off where the hard drive goes and insert the new hard drive. I turned on the console and so far so good, no memory error signs or anthing like that. I go to system settings, click memory and there it is Hard Drive and right besides it of all things it says Microsoft in bold black. I think to myself I don't even think this is a generic hard drive. I transfer all content from my internal memory to the new hard drive and uploaded my microsoft points and downloaded a couple of new games and DLC which not to mention took like an hour for 1.88 GB game which maybe to some seems quick but my god. Either way it was still better to me than having to go and drive to the nearest game store 15 minutes away. Now there is one thing I will say negative about this and perhaps people will critic me on it which I am sure they will but it says 250 GB Hard Drive and when I installed it for the first time and went to system settings and to memory it has it listed as only having 229 GB of memory. I think to myself okay now I realize that with the internal memory although it says 512 MB of memory that you only get like 415 MB or something but where or what in the world would be using 21GB when my internal memory only used 100MB to itself or console related stuff. Now I just assumed that well maybe since the internal memory was already so limited it did not want to use up more memory than it had to and with this large amount of one it can fully expand itself. Either way I really do not know. Either way I just look and see 229 GB of memory and think to myself I originally was only going to order like 60GB or 120GB and I only paid $40 for 229GB which makes me very happy. Either way if I could I would highly recommend this product to whomever wishes to buy or upgrade their hard drive because although I am sure this company does not have like a unlimited supply so get them while they last or atleast before they raise the price ha.Either way I am extremely happy with my purchase and I now know after experiencing it first-hand that this company/seller is trustworthy and has the best possible deal not to mention that you are getting the real deal and not some generic aftermarket copy. Even if this is they did an outstanding job. If you are considering a new hard drive or need more memory do not miss this opportunity. Feel free to ask me whatever information you need in regards to this product and also the xbox 360. I hope this review will help much more than the others did for me.

Not OEM quality, but suck it up.
It works well. HDD inside seems to be solid. It is a little noisier than the official Microsoft brand HDD which it replaced. It also doesn't seat as well, kinda a tight fit. But it's a great price and it's been working a month or so.

Very inexpensive, but very loud 360 HD
This hard drive comes at a great price and worked right away in my older 360 but is noisy as hell.PRO:- No problem setting it up. Plug and play, quite literally.- MASSIVE size for the price, at least in comparison to "official" hard drives.CONS:- NOISY. I have never owned a hard drive in any computer or console that was this loud. I often move my 360 games to the hard drive because the sound of the DVD drive spinning gets obnoxious (I have an older, louder 360 DVD drive), and my stock 60 GB hard drive is quiet enough that I can barely hear it. In contrast, this 250 GB hard drive is constantly clicking and clacking at very noticeable volume - it definitely kills the atmosphere in many games and defeats the purpose of copying games to the hard drive (other than to slightly decrease load times). UPDATE: The clicking issue seems to have gone away after about a month of use.- Issues downloading apps and playing games at the same time. I'm not sure why I have this problem, but when I'm downloading apps in the background games are absolutely unplayable - I don't recall having this issue with my stock hard drive. I can download games in the background without a problem, but not apps. UPDATE: This problem has gone away as well - I think it was an issue with that version of the XBox dashboard, the problem went away after the next system update from Microsoft.

Great Product.
Awesome product. Has worked flawlessly for me. I was a little skeptical because its not an official Microsoft product, but what counts is if the product works as advertised. Yes, this works as advertised and I'm very happy with it. Went from a 60GB to 250GB.

No complaints
Wanted to wait a while before I wrote this. Excellent hard drive that i've not had any problems with since I've started using it. My old X360 HD was only 20gb and I had 2 x 32gb memory flashes that were a slight pain to transfer over to the new drive. Took under an hour with some back-and-forth but not really a problem. Very good for the money, gives my old 360 a new lease of life, especially with so many XB Live games every month taking up space.

Indistinguishable from the official drive!
As the Xbox 360 Slim was released a couple of years back, the Microsoft-branded HDD's for the older models have gotten pretty hard to find and are getting very over-priced on sites like eBay (I know they've always been like that, but the last year or so it's gotten out of hand). While searching the web for third-party HDD's for the older Xbox 360 I came across a lot of horror-stories by people having to RMA their drives 3-4 times and some even wrecking their Xbox-units in the process. It held me back from purchasing a third-party drive, but last month my original drive was really too full (and I didn't want to delete anything) so I started my search again. I came across this model, which had some positive reviews on the American website. I decided to bite the bullet. And as of now, I'm happy I did! The drive worked a-ok out-of-the-box and works just as fast and quiet as the original. I put all my data on it (via a third-party Data Transfer cable) and enjoyed the huge amount of space I still had available. That was two weeks ago, the drive has been working for 2-3hrs every day since then and hasn't given any indication of failing. It also looks exactly like an official Microsoft-drive, which is another pro!All in all, this was one of the best purchases for my old Xbox 360 Elite to-date. It's not as cheap as the cheapest third-party drives, but it's still a good deal cheaper than the first-party Microsoft-drives and at least it works perfectly!
