Somewhat decieving...
Judging from the picture, I was guessing that this kit would have Dr. Deadly, his table and the evil rabbit. It's actually just the Doc. Also, he's a little on the small side. Not a bad kit, just less than expected. He has interchangeable arms and his head moves, which is neat, but I'd rather have the evil rabbit...

Childhood nostalgia
When these kits were first sold in 1971 I built all of the scenes and props but they didn't sell the more controversial character figures kits ( the characters were and are sold separately from the props) couldn't be found any where close to where I lived. I was great fun to relive my childhood with these kits

I was disappointed. I have done many many models, and I have never gotten one that didn't have all that was pictured on the box.

Great to see Dr. Deadly return...
There are several factors that go into my rating for this kit. And, I will address a couple common comments you may hear elsewhere or see in other reviews. I was fortunate enough as a kid to see the Monster Scenes kits on the store shelves in the early 1970s. The reissue kits come in Canadian style boxes similar to those used on US sold kits at that time. The boxes were somewhat confusing as you were not quite sure what came in the kit, or even what kit you were getting. It does say "Dr. Deadly" on the end flap of the box, but the sides show the Dr. involved with all sorts of accessories and other characters. The kit, however, just includes the good Dr. and an assortment of optional arms. This confused me as a kid, as I wanted the Pendulum model, but wound up with Dr. Deadly. That sucked at the time, but today, as an adult modeler and collector, I find the retro boxes really cool. I think the target audience for these kits is also people old enough to know what they are buying and what comes (or does not come) in each kit. As with anything, if you aren't familiar with a product, look for a review before you buy if you are uncertain about anything. The kit 1/13 scale is molded in light grey plastic, and includes 20 or so parts to assemble Dr. Deadly. The color of plastic used is different from the original, not that it makes any difference. It's a snap together model and assembly is pretty much fool proof. If you do not glue the two body halves together you can pop the different/alternate sets of arms in place to change his pose. I found also you can do some minor surgery on the arm joints, add magnets to the parts, and make the arms removable that way. Dr. Deadly's head also moves and he has an optional surgical mask and stone display base. The kit instructions are even done in the style of the orignal's comic book style leaflets.I really can't knock the kit down in any way because 1) it is pretty much an exact copy of the original kit, right down to packaging, instructions, etc. Any issues with what you get in the kit, how big he is, etc. are issues that went along with the original kits 40 years ago too. I think more people would complain if the series were reissued in totally new, modern style boxes that left nothing to the imagination, as the models really are aimed at adult collectors who know what they are buying.

"Moebius Monster Scenes Rock!!"
What can I say? Thirty plus years after buying the original Monster Scenes Models, I could never imagine they would be produced so beautifully in 2008. But they have been and they are nothing short of fantastic! I bought all three of this first series of these amazing models, as well as the Monsters Store Display from Moebius. All I can say is that if you were a fan then, you will surely be one again now. Grab these before they're sold out. If you are a true obsessive compulsive fanboy like myself, try to get the Store Display before it's sold out. It is truly spectacular and will take you back to the day of the Five and Dime Store. Otherwise, get the individual models. If you don't, you may wish you were strapped to a Pendulum (one of the next models from series 2, soon to come out)!
