As a fisherman it is useful to know the water depths and to see shoals of bait fish. Fish often feed around structures and this will help to find them.

Can this be towed by a bait boat

Yes. I tow it from a kayak, so I see no reason why it couldn’t be towed from anything. Strong Bluetooth signal, so as long as your phone Is in range, it should be fine. Tow slowly for best results, for contour (and fish) mapping.

Does it float or sink?

It floats and sends a signal back to your smart phone. It has a range of about 20 meters in my experience.
