TCL Alto 8i 2.1 Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar with Built-in Subwoofers and Bluetooth – TS8111, 260W, 39.4-inch, Black

Bought a TCL 65” QLED TV but the sound from TV is weak due to the inevitable modern TV’s thin design.I've been looking for a solution to clean up the mess behind the TV which tangled 7.1 setup speaker/HDMI cables along with a heavy AV receiver. Single bar design TCL Alto 8i 2.1 channel with ARC/Dolby was the right choice.(Anything with the so-called wireless-separate-base-system always a problem and causing more delays with lip-sync issues. Of course, other factors are out there such as delays caused by the Audio/Video channel processing, etc...)- Amazon delivered the item in TCL’s original simple white box. No damages.- Came with all cable, mounts, and remote control with 2AAA battery. Perfect.- On the Roku TV, I enabled all CEC options then grabbed a ‘high-speed’ marked HDMI cable and connect to the ARC port.- Once power up the Alto 8i, my RokuTV automatically went into the speaker setup mode.- Click on the setup confirmation, the setup was done and the amazing short welcome movie played.- This is my first soundbar and the setup requires only 2 cables (HDMI and Power) and the sound is so clear without any delay. Also, a text message appears front side of the speaker upon detection of Dolby sound source. Neat.- Remote control works great and I can control the sound volume level with Roku TV's remote.- When it goes to 'sleep mode' the tiny LED indicator blinks.* I was a bit worried by reading all negative reviews and feedback on Amazon but so far this TCL Alto 8i speaker is working great without any problems. I’m glad I purchased the Alto 8i soundbar.BT connection with iPhone simply works and the music is loud and clear. Well done TCL. I just got this soundbar on a cyber Monday deal. It was at my house 2 days later, at 9:30 AM! As a lover of high quality audio, I was very excited for this upgrade because it has the Dolby Atmos option. The setup was easy with my TCL Roku TV (R615/617) Just plug the HDMI cable into the output of the speaker and into your eARC HDMI port and it will walk you through the setup on the Roku TV screen. The sound on this thing is absolutely amazing for a sound bar! If I did a blind test, I would not have thought it was a soundbar. It doesn’t sound tinsel-y, or crackly. The bass is very prominent and is controllable as well with a +/-5 and the treble as well, so you can really fine tune the sound to your liking.There are also 3 preset sounds, Movie, Music, TV. I’ve been leaving it on the Movie mode as the sound is just so much more detailed and immersive. TV sounds like a standard TV, so if you don’t want bass and want that talk show as loud as possible then go for TV mode. Music seems to be a step down from Movie mode. It’s not flat sounding like the TV mode is.Overall I have to say I’m very impressed with this model. I will be adding the Roku wireless speakers and the wireless subwoofer at some point as well which will all work at the same time. I can only imagine how much more immersive it will sound once I add those! We’re going to feel like we’re in the movie theaters but we’re at home and have kept it all under $600 for the 3 different products.TL;DR- amazing sound bar definitely worth buying. 10/10 recommend it to my friends and family! Bass is very deep, highs are crisp and there’s no crackling sounds.

This is the most accurate review you'll get for this soundbar. First off the sound clarity of this sound bar is good the voices are easy to hear and understand which is the true sign of a good soundbar even at low volume. The bass is not bad for a built in sub contrary to what some people are saying. The sound bar can get pretty loud too if you want it too. Yes the sound can cut out once and a while in streaming apps but luckily not that often. As far as the Dolby Atmos is considered it can be heard a bit but not the greatest. Also this bar could use dts and some up firing speakers to really get the Atmos going but that would be up to TCL in a newer model. Overall is this sound bar good on a budget I'd say yes. Recent update aperantly there's a newer model with a dedicated center speaker and up firing speakers. I tested that one and the surround was worse than this one but it did have a nice sub and good voice clarity as well . But this one is better because of the more noticable surround sound.

I was worried after reading reviews of people dealing with poor sound quality, and people dealing with lip lag issues. None of it was true! The sound quality is immaculate, and the sound matches up perfectly with what’s going on, on the screen. Whether it be someone speaking, or a gun shot, there is no lag at all, it’s perfectly in sync. It’s the perfect height to sit under my TCL TV, I used the stand that came with the TCL TV, I don’t have it wall mounted. The speaker turns on and off with the TV remote, so I don’t have to constantly switch remotes. It was a super easy set up. All I did was plug the hdmi wire into arc1, and then plugged in the power chord. The TV picked up the speaker right away and they worked seamlessly within a moment. I am a tough critic, not easily pleased, and am unfortunately seldom happy with my electronic purchases, but I’m over the moon about my decision to go give this sound bar a try. I blew out one of the speakers on my 55” TCL that I bought last spring. There was that annoying rattling sound when a certain pitch was hit. I had 3 options.. Take it to be repaired, second option was to buy a whole new tv, or the third and best option was to buy this sound bar, and I’m super happy I went with the third option. Had I known how well it worked I would have bought one sooner. Hope this helps anyone else was on the fence about purchasing one.
