Exploring Second Language Classroom Research: A Comprehensive Guide

I have found out by reading this book that doing classroom research can be great fun and extremely rewarding. It has made me reflect about my teaching practice and make connections between theory and existing research. Additionally, my new thinking has entered a new culture that has made me a better practitioner. I see teaching and learning with eyes out of the black box. I highly recommend this book to all teachers of public and private institutions.

Like the title say, this book is a comprehensive compendium of approaches for language teachers to conduct classroom research. It covers action research, ethnography, surveys, observation and other methodologies, with overall bent toward qualitative approaches. I bought the book as an up-to-date reference to guide a PhD thesis, and it did not disappoint. Very readable, full of examples and highly critical of appropriate and inappropriate use of research methods.
