You'll learn how you can make composite images and create works of art with the special effects provided with PaintShop Pro X6. Throughout these pages, you'll find step-by-step instructions, full-color photographs, notes, and Tips. You'll also find an appendix covering keyboard shortcuts, as well as a glossary you can refer to for new terms. Harness the power of PaintShop Pro X6 to perfect your photographs and create graphic elements that are dynamic, unique, and fun. What's on the companion website: fun sample graphics, fonts, frames, and brushes and demo add-on filters programs for use with PaintShop Pro X6. Review: Very, very useful - Clearly written and well-organized. The developer's video tutorials are great, but not comprehensive and hard to go back to find forgotten details. I've been using PaintShop Pro for over a decade. When I jumped from X to X6 I decided to be diligent to really learn the program. This book really helps get me up to speed. This is a great and rich graphics program with a very modest purchase price (and no forever fees like Photoshop!). It has great capability beyond just re-touching photos. Too bad there are so few books as guides to what it can do. This volume is a good start. Review: Excellent go to book for PSP - I gave it just 4 stars because, IMHO, there should be some examples to try out with clear and concise step by step instruction. There is none of that. If you want to understand a particular topic, you must read the chapter/s regarding that particular topic. Then try to figure it out on your own. Don't get me wrong here, it is a very good manual. If you have no clue about how to use PSP, this will give you all of the information on how to accomplish or understand the different subjects needed for organizing ("work flow"..why do they have to use complicated titles for stuff?) and editing. For those of us who can't afford Adobe Photo Shop (or even understand it), PSP is affordable and great for more advanced DSL users. It is great for both JPEG and RAW photos. Editing is more advanced. So, if you are new to this advanced technology, you need this book. It will give you a better, fuller knowledge of the program. Good luck!

GOOD EXPLANATIONS IN UNDERSTANDING COREL PRO. X6
Just commenced to read first 3 chapters that gives in a good idea of the program and what is involved. This is a well written book with a "down to earth" explanations as to how you use "Corel PaintShop ProX6". If you get Corel Paintshop ProX6 (Disc)I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU Purchase this Book. Am work through Program and Taking "small steps" to learn........I have to read things several times for it to "sink in". Doing about about a "Chapter a Week/or Two" after understanding the first 3 chapters.

This is a good book. It's not difficult to follow and you will get lots of ideas about how to make the most of your photos. My one recommendation for all of these instruction books is to make them spiral bound so you can lay them flat and they will stay open while you are learning. I would pay extra for that.

Very helpful book
When I ordered Corel PaintShop Pro X6 I decided that I needed to order PaintShop Pro X6 for Photographers and Picture Yourself Learning Corel PaintShop Pro X6 as well. Just like the program and the other book I am taking it all very slow. If you want a paint program Corel, in my opinion, is fantastic. The books are a must. They are chocked full of useful information.

Useful, but three updates behind
This book is a helpful but doesn't always answer questions I have about the software (e.g., it defines saturation but not variance). This book is three upgrades behind the current edition of the X9 software, so its screenshots and instructions are often out of date. Nevertheless, it's a useful but incomplete reference.

Great Product Manual, Corel should have done something like this!
This is one of the most complete books I have found for learning Paintshop Pro X6. It is very easy to follow and find things that are buried in the software and hard to find. Kudos to the author.

Good coverage of material, but needed more depth.
Book was well produced, well written, and had good graphics. It described many of the things I was expecting in such a book, but I was disappointed with the depth of coverage. For example, a dialog box might have several main features, which were well described. But those dialogs with "Advance" buttons had no description at all. For those with experience with Adobe Elements (I had version 6), the book covered familiar topics. I was hoping to get some explanation of the advanced topics so the book had just incremental value added for me. But for those with little previous experience with photo editing software, I think the book would be very useful (4 star).

Desvendando as funções do Corel PaintShop Pro X6

Needs more for beginners.
Somewhat useful. Could use step by step instructions for many things like cloning, erasing etc. definitions of many things would be helpful, e.g. Vibrancy, clarity, threshold......... Starting values for most applications would be a big help. Beginners need more explicit teaching than this. PSP is a good program and would be more popular with instructions tailored for them. Book does not recognize thst many people work out of their Microsoft Photo Gallery.

a good working manual for psp x6
I was impressed with the depth of this book in getting to grips with psp x6. Although there are some frustrating omissions in step by step instructions. I am a novice at tech speak. But overall it is a valuable help. I had psp x3 so x6 is a learning curve. This book is a good help in achieving a working knowledge of ALL that psp x6 offers.
