ion39300 10" R1 Ice Auger

I was a little skeptical at first. I was hoping that the 10 inch version would be able to drill 20 to 30 holes on a charge but wow!I drilled so many holes one day (through 18 inchs of ice) that I lost track. I'm 51 and in decent shape and this thing drilled so many holes on one charge, I just gave up trying to kill the battery, and it still had 2/3 of a charge left.I was originally going to get a gas auger, but man am I glad I went with this one. Its very light, holds a great charge and is very tough. I did tweek the handle bars a little when I forgot to secure it and it bounced out of my Rhino onto the hard ice, but that was my fault and its barely noticeable. My favorite two things about this auger is how quiet it is and Non-smelly it is . I love not 'waking the dead' to drill another hole and the other nice thing is being able to drill holes inside the shanty without filling it with exhaust gas's.If your on the fence about this unit or a gas unit, get this one.

I've owned one before and I love it. So easy to use. No more hassle with gas.

Perfect MN (Christmas/Bday) Combo Gift:I was tired of all the gas smells & gas mess of my husband's old auger. Spilling in the back of the truck, the back of the SUV, the garage, the driveway, the fishouse.... no more expensive gas mess!!!!!He LOVES this battery powered ION!!! Battery lasts far longer than his many holes during his full weekend adventures. He has yet to see the battery actually die. It's amazing!!!!I bought him the 10" since he already had a 8" bit from his old gaser. Now he can use the 8" on the ION, but he prefers the 10", yet some houses he still needs the 8" so overall, a WIN, now he has both bits, for his ION!!!!!!!!

The Ion auger is a dream to use. Should have bought one a lot sooner.

Very powerful! Heavy enough to get through hard ice 13inches thick but still not too heavy to carry but we did use a sled. No complaints!

I like the fact that it's lightweight team in a 10 in an easy-to-use thrilled about 35 holes and hardly used any battery. Granted the ice is only three to four inches thick

My review keeps getting removed. This is normally a good product, but I got a lemon. Battery life - 12 holes in 12" ice and the battery is dead. Blades had the notches in them ( not the straight edge version) and they would not engage ice without considerable pressure. I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer for replacement blades and battery.

Used it ice fishing yesterday. Drilled about 20 holes and it was awesome how easily and fast it drilled through about 12 inches of ice. Love this auger for sure
