OspreyEurope Unisex Daylite Plus Everyday and Commute Pack

Have had many day packs in the past but this must be the best.Bought 2 for me and my wife for day hikes.Didn’t want anything too bulky or large as I have arthritis in my neck and struggle to carry too much.Really comfortable and the pack sits high up on the back....the waist band and chest band provide additional support ..... happily walked for a day with no ill effects ... to be honest didn’t really notice I was wearing it.The pack is large enough for overtrousers, light water proof jacket, lunch box, half litre water bottle and quite a bit more.Would definitely recommend.

Wanted a 100 litre travel pack. Bought both the rolling Sojourn and the backpack only Farpoint. As these are only 80 litres, bought this Daylite Plus for the capacity. Combination is not as good as luggage with is inherently 100 litres because it limits how and what you could pack in terms of what bukly duvet jackets you can stuff into them but on the other hand, if at the destination you want a day pack, then this combination could work well for you. I knock 1 star because it is difficult to mount and dismount onto the Farpoint or Sojourn which means I can't see myself going to the airport using my daypack then attach while at the airport - too fiddly. It would have to be connected while at home and stay connected.

I am a massive fan of osprey! I needed a bag for work as my standard osprey bag was starting to look rough after 5 years. So i bought this and its perfect. Great little inside separator for my work laptop. The side meshes hold drinks and cups perfectly in place. Loads of little pockets. I love it!

This bag carries a lot more than I first thought but it is most certainly a day bag useful for day trips or commuting to and from work. I have had no leakage in the rain either yet so I would say it is definitely water resistant. The only downside I have found is that the side pockets for water bottles do not hold water bottles well which is a bit of a design flaw. That being said I have a good water bottle which does not leak and there is plenty of space in the main pocket but I understand some people may fear a leak and it is in the same compartment as the laptop pocket. There is a hydration pocket for hydration bags at the back as well which could be used.

As usual from Osprey, this is an excellent rucksack. We had a larger one before when the kids were very small, as a day bag with nappies and clothes. This smaller one is still perfect to fit a couple of changes of clothes for both children (5 and 3) as well as a pack of wipes, water bottles and a snack. The side mesh pouches are quite small, but still suitable for water bottles. It’s comfy to wear for extended periods. The smaller front compartment has pouches for small items and the zipped compartment right at the front is good for keys. I’ll no doubt always go for Osprey.
