Perfect for large pressure canners
I bought this to use with my All American 41-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker Canner . This burner seems like it was designed specifically for this canner. The size and look fits great. I love the stainless steel look. The SS10 is able to support the weight of the canner with 20 quart sized ball jars of food inside with no wobbling or anxiety on my part. It is not difficult to maintain pressure in the canner while it is cooking. The dial gauge on the SS10 is a little sensitive, meaning that you have to adjust it in very small increments when finding the right temperature for the weight jiggler on the canner, but once you spend a little time learning it's not that difficult. I find it easy to adjust the flame for the canner by sitting in a chair about the full length of the hose away from the burner so that I can see the flame. It's pretty easy to eyeball from there. 5 stars and worth the extra cost.

Solid Performer!
The packaging was terrible one legs was sticking out of the box and I thought for sure it would be damaged but it somehow survived unscathed. The unit was easy to put together but the bolt that hold the air vent was very tight and difficult to turn at about half way in. I just kept torquing it down until it was in to the correct position. I even backed it out all the way once to make sure it did not somehow crossthread it but it was just as tight the second time. After hooking up the LP tank The thing fired right up. The air vent adjuster does not appear to do to much. I did not really notice much difference in the flam no matter where I set it but it works very well. I heated up 4 quarts of peanut oil in a 8 qt Dutch oven to 375 degrees in about 20 minutes. You can find tune the flame with the adjuster but you have to watch it closely and play with it a bit to keep it on temperature. It worked very well frying chicken wings for the Super Bowl. I will also use it to steam crabs etc. overall I think it's a great unit and I would recommend it as a solid multi use burner.

Nothing that will rust
To answer the questions I had when considering this item:Yes. It’s fully stainless. It does discolor from heat on the support bars above the burner, and that’s why some say it peels or isn’t stainless. It absolutely is a welded stainless frame. Yes, the burner is also cast aluminum - which I wanted because I live in Florida and it rains every day in the summer and is oppressively humid. That means things get wet with condensation every night/morning. This thing is safe to live outside near my patio and not rust away.Performance- the burner outs out plenty of heat. I mostly use it with a lodge Dutch oven for frying, it gets the oil hot FAST and keeps it hot. Previously I used a tabletop Coleman burner and it just wasn’t up to the task. This is worth every penny..

Does the job, with only minor reservations
Pros: Sturdy legs, very nice braided hose, good connections. Got 6.5 gallons of water from 50 degrees to 212 in about 45 minutes, even with me playing with the open/close options. Especially impressive as it was 40 degrees outside. Relatively easy to use, as I am a beginner.Cons: It is low to the ground, the instruction manual has a lot of warnings but is not very detailed, and it turned a bunch of weird colors after a period of time.Summary: Altogether very good, even more so if you get it on sale like I did. I didn't have to install a single screw, and I didn't need any tools besides my hands to get it going. I did a full-boil 5 gallon brew (homebrewing beer) and it worked like a charm. Pretty easy to control. It's not a very tall unit, so I found myself bending over quite a bit to get some things done. I will probably put it on an elevated surface next time. Also, even though this one is way better than the black one (no paint burning off during the first use), it did turn some strange colors. Granted, I turned the heat up pretty high, but when I put it away tonight, some of the top is purple, some is a dark brown, some is rust-colored. Doesn't appear to be misshapen, but it's weird to me that it is not still silver.Altogether, I really like this and think it's a great value. I can see this lasting me a long time.

Great burner and company
Great burner. I used it to boil water for a pressure canner (All American model 941) and at full blast the canner comes to a boil in minutes. The other day I put a 16 inch wide stock pot on it and at less than 50% power the water boiled. This was to peel tomatoes (so important to keep the water boiling as you drop in cold tomatoes; each cold tomato cools the water and stops the boiling). The burner overcame each batch load of tomatoes and kept the water boiling. No more stewed tomatoes sitting in tepid water waiting to boil, just a few minutes and then remove for perfectly peeled tomatoes. I have also tried this burner with a wok and the cooking power is great. I was able to get the wok red hot. I had concerns about the flame being just a little too far away from the bottom of the wok but in practice this was no issue. This is my most versatile burner from Bayou and can can handle all of my small to medium cooking jobs. My next project is to deep fry a turkey which I am fully confident will work properly. I have another burner from Bayou, a huge KAB6 and that is only used to boil large and extra large pots. Great burners and a great company. Great customer service too. I had specific questions about the burner itself and customer support transferred me to a engineer working in the factory who took the time to answer all of my questions. Will purchase from again.
