Your not going to get a good sound from headphone socket you need surround sound through hdmi

Q: does it have a coaxial socket so i can plug a satelite dish directly in to the tv?

Yes it does have the socket . You can plug it in BUT it does not pick up the Astra 2 satellite well. This is a european satellite so the T V does not work well.
