Q: Will it work without the water line?

I don’t know about the water line. The water tastes and smells like bleach, as does the ice. I use bottled water. I thought it was Bluetooth, but it isn’t. It is beautiful, but I was very disappointed. That is my fault because I thought all family hubs were Bluetooth capable so I could listen to music or watch TV while cooking.

Q: Does the instaview light stay on all of the time?

No, you knock twice on the door to turn the light on and then knock twice again to turn the light off. The manual says that the LED light will turn off after 10 secs.
