Nice art and quite a bit of content (to read) per volume
I've been trying to build up a diverse (small) collection of sci-fi manga, and this has been one of my favorite picks so far. The art is really nice, the story flows smoothly, and there's quite a bit of text to read which really draws out each volume. It's a futuristic setting, but at it's surface it's less bleak than many other sci-fi series. However underneath that there's a lot of food for thought being built up in the background. Of course this is only volume one, so we're mainly just introduced to the main characters: Kyōma Mabuchi (who looks like he'd be better suited for Samurai Champloo, despite the setting), and Mira Yurizaki, a cute AF android, and the post-"coil" world ("coils" being an energy technology that's changed the world. Great intro volume, and although I say it's mainly an intro to the characters, it certainly jumps into some excitement too.

“He lives in the past, and he will die in the past.”
Dimension W springs from the always intriguing idea that a world is defined by its power source. It’s 2072 AD and “coils” based on the work of Nicholas Tesla provide near unlimited power, but are strictly controlled. Dimension W follows a bounty hunter of sorts (called collectors) who retrieve illegal coils, as well as a robot who may be more than she seems.Dimension W presents a captivating world and is dripping with potential. The main character is stuck in the past but capable of operating in the current environment, which provides a nice contrast and a great lens through which to view the unfolding events. Using skewers as his weapon of choice is offbeat and defines his character instantly. With a compelling main character and a wonderfully imaginative world, Dimension W is set up well to present its story, which is already layered with interesting themes about the nature of A.I. and robots as well as the lengths of price of “keeping order” and how far it can be pushed. I’m excited to see how it all goes as the series builds momentum in future volumes.

If you like the anime you'll enjoy the books
Great series. Got hooked on the anime then picked up the Manga to fill in the blanks. I think it was the second volume where the story details were essentially glossed over by the anime however in some way the truncated story in the anime works better as a story.I really wish the English publishers would speed up the release process. I know that might seem unreasonable since they are having it translated from Japanese to English, thing is a lot of these books and manga are already translated by fans, usually paid translators cut and past -if they were not the fan who did the translating originally. I try to support the translation of our favorite series, however it gets to be a painful wait for the slow drip of new releases.

Bought over a year ago and never reviewed :(
Mabuchi starts off as this really outwardly distant/cold character and this persists through the following books somewhat aswell. Mira on the other hand is very sweet and innocent despite losing her father. It's a nice dynamic, and should get more attention than it has.

Crazy
I've heard many things about this series primarily negative. The first chapter kickstarts the entire manga into high gear . The designs although not the most flashy fit with the entire concept and theme of the world. The characters are for the most part unique with a little twist. Definitely has some connections to the real world. Greatly recommend to any fan of manga . Although it will get complicated at times.

Next Big Deal.
This manga is going to go far. I love this author and this newest one, although a bit of a sellout because of his choice of main characters for this one, already has me addicted and anxious for the next volume
