Lots of information
There were a few repetitions, and a couple of small errors, but overall, a good text book and worth the money. I'm keeping it for reference.

Seems interesting but Amazon sent me a used book with stains and a clearly read spine
Excited to read this book but disappointed. There is cat hair on the book as it is used which I am allergic to.

For Stephen Hawking Fans
Bought as a gift for my husband who has read the Stephens Hawking books too and he said this was equally as good! A book he wants to keep and read over and over. Will be keeping an eye for more books by this author Katie Mack in the future.

How to sum up complex theories accessibly
An excellent book which is written with humour and manages to convey some really complex theories in an entertaining and very accessible way. It could be subtitled 'or how I learned to stop worrying about vacuum decay'.

Enjoyable
As someone who is working hard to be part of the astrophysics world, this book is not only fascinating but enjoyable to read; with quirky dialogue here and there makes it more grounded and easier to read. At the same time, however, I am learning so much about our universe and what it has to offer. Definitely would read more than once.

My brain has melted
Normally I get through books at a rate of 4 to 6 a month. This one has been a total curved ball.....With this book; I find, I read a few pages - then have to go back and re-read it to pigeon hole what I've read - it's not a difficult read but it's very 'involved'. I can read a piece of fiction and people I know become characters in my mind so I have a reference point with each character. However, this is a totally different.... I'm enjoying it, but my nut is fried! I have read five other books since starting this but the masochist in me keeps going back for another kick in the guts.I shall beat this book.I'm sure that some people will be posting that they've understood, inwardly digested and have loved every page they've read - it's amazing how many theoretical physicists there are in the world!!!!I'm sure you'll enjoy this book because despite what I've written above it's great fun.................................................!!

Rip, crunch, bounce ...
Most everyone likes this book and most everyone is right. It's funny, clever, well written, and the author has a knack for simplifying the heady concepts of physics/cosmology, without indulging in "my life as a scientist" stuff which often tediously bulks out books like these. It's short and sharp and highly recommended. Can she please write all the popular physics books from now on?
