double decker cube tower is sturdy; see opening dimensions below
This review is for the DOUBLE STORY cube condo. The reviews for different options are all mixed together. I see many for the single cubes, so if you want info on the DOUBLE, read this.Is it easy to put together? Yes. While there are instructions, there is no need for them. Super simple to put together. Just place bottom pad, then slide the wood dowels in, then another pad for the middle level platform, then finish with the padded lid. All done! It is sturdy. The cube style beds and towers are crazy sturdy. Then if you decided to not use them for a period of time, then they are just as easy to deconstruct and fold flat.DIMENSIONS: Not quite 15"w x 15"d, it is petite yet large enough to hold a cat. It is 30" tall. The entry into the cube areas is not that big, but I see my 8-9lb girls going in an out. The lower arch hole is 7.5" x 8", and the second entry (round) is 7" across. I think it will come down to preference of your cat. The top portion is cushioned but it isn't real squishy. Has a shrerpa liner which is kinda cozy.I got this more for the height and platform. So while they dont curl up on it and sleep, they do sit there. It works perfectly for my needs. I bought mine for a specific spot in my house, and it fits perfectly. I didn't want anything too big- I was looking for more of a taller attractive looking platform than a stack of boxes provide. I'm already a huge fan of cube style beds. so this is just a double decker.DETAILS: Once side has a sisal panel for scratching at. Front left, if you are looking at it from the front. I have mixed feels on the panel as the unit is not heavy, and I think it moves some when scratching at it. The unit is about 15 lbs, so maybe it is hefty enough for a good scratch. The unit hasn't fallen over, so that must count for something. I didn't buy it for this feature, but it is a nice bonus feature. Attractive detail. Depending on where you place it, it might greatly encourage kitty to scratch at this.Overall I really like this. I would buy it again, and knowing me and my desire to outfit my entire house with kitty climbers and other things of interest, I very well may do so. it is attractive, easy on eye, and should fit in with most decor.

Instant favorite! Goodbye junky cardboard boxes.
Instant hit with my kitty! Like most cat owners, boxes from Sam's Club and delivered packages tended to linger in the house as they provided endless fun for my cat. She loves chasing, hiding, and stalking in the boxes, swiping out at toys we tease near the holes and handles of the box. I got tired of having random boxes scattered around my living room, though, so I was so stoked to see this. It's a little smaller than the jumbo produce boxes we bring back from Sam's/Costco and it doesn't have quite as many holes(I used to cut holes out of the cardboard boxes), but it's the perfect piece of pet furniture that looks more like a permanent fixture in the house than a piece of garbage. It matches our couch perfectly, is sturdy, and has already captured my cat's attention and heart. She has slept both on the cushioned little pillow top and inside. It has a fairly nice weight to it, so it doesn't really knock over super easy, though I imagine it can with super rough play. It comes out of the bag smelling a little strongly of where or how it was manufactured, which I worried would be an issue for my cat, but it wasn't. I also rubbed some catnip over to encourage her, but she honestly had no problem.I may or may not end up snipping one of both of the balls out of the holes. She plays with them a bit, but they don't move or surprise her, so she loses interest quick, and they get in the way when she tries going after feather teaser toys we brush near the holes. For the sale price it was worth it. Some might argue that you could make your own out of the Walmart cubby storage things, but this one is nicely upholstered and finished. None of the edges are sharp or uncovered, and the pillowtop is a nice touch. It isn't too poofy or overly soft, but it's more than what most pet furniture has to offer besides carpeting. The fact that it has a little "bed" top is a bonus, really. The weight of the lid is enough to keep it in place with ease, but I sort of wish it would velcro/attach to something when built. It was just a slight nagging feeling to me, especially since it comes packaged with its velcro holding onto the bottom insert for folded up storage. The velcro straps just sort of hang inconspicuously once assembled. It's a breeze to put together and take apart. It might be a little snug for rather chubby cats. Cats like snug spaces and it isn't horribly small, but I imagine a fat cat might maneuver a bit clumsier in it if you intend to do some serious playing/interacting with your cat while they're in the box.EDIT: INACCURATE PICTURE? One of the balls is pictured as sticking out on a little plastic or rubber arm. Neither of the balls were attached to any sort of arm for them to hang out.The strings for both balls are secured/sewn inside with no overhang arm, and nothing came in the box or packaging to create this. An arm or attachment wouldn't be able to recreate the picture anyhow, since they are attached from the inside.I wish I'd found this sooner.

My Big Cats Dig It
I have two pleasantly plump kitties. One is 12lb, the other 14. They both use it! They even occasionally play with the dangling poofs inside. I've had it over a month now. It's sturdy and looks cute. I'd recommend this!

My cat is happy with it so do I
It’s a nice snuggly house for my cat and she’s happy with it. She likes to sit on the top as shown in the picture more than using inside and she also uses it as a scratcher despite been told off so many times. Two hanging balls to the sides are a good play gesture and she does play with them at times. Overall nice little home and it looks nice in your living room/house.

My two kittens may not have loved it right away, but love it they did
At first, my two kittens were more interested in the box that it came in, than in the bed itself, before I set it up. One kitten seemed much more interested in it at first, and LOVED playing with the built-in toys. The toys are attached EXTREMELY well, because no matter how hard he tried to pull on it, no matter what angle he tried to pull on it.... He tried for a good half an hour to pull the thing off, and never did. The toys have still never came off.Neither cat really seemed to like the bottom hideaway. My female kitten really seemed to love sleeping on the top of this thing. The male kitten would occasionally join her, but the female kitten really seemed to feel at home sleeping on the top of this. Eventually, the female kitten started to love playing with the toys as well. The product felt very sturdy, and, as mentioned, they were unable to rip off the built-in toys. They also seemed to use the thing as a scratching post, which I definitely felt was a good thing. In the end, I wasn't entirely sure how the kittens would react to this product. One of them loved the toys immediately, the other seemed disinterested. Then, one of the cats loved to sleep up top, and the second cat would occasionally join her there. Both eventually loved playing with the toys. They would occasionally go into the hideaway, but even with some catnip inside there, it was rarely used. I was impressed with how much they liked the product. It was something that was used for both fun and leisure. It may not have been used to it's full potential, but both kittens found things that they loved about this thing.

Nice box if your cat likes it.... Mine didn't :(
I really, really wish my cat liked this box. It was easy to set up, sturdy, fairly easy on the eye compared with lots of cat beds/hideaways. But no. She won't sit on top of it, she won't go inside it, and she won't play with the balls, even from the outside - no matter how much encouragement I give her (including food, and pheromone spray). I can't work out why - maybe the holes and access points aren't as many or as large as she'd like. I personally thought the holes around the ball toys were too small. Hopefully others' cats enjoy it more than mine!

Excellent Product
My cat absolutely loves this Cube. As he is an older cat the height is ideal for him to jump onto. He sits and sleeps there for hours.
