Bought the same rug several years ago and we liked it so much that we just bought it again. Our family of five plus two dogs had it for four years in our main family room before it started looking worn in the high traffic areas and in front of the couch where you sit. At such a reasonable price we chose to replace the old one to get that brand new fluff instead of cleaning the old one. It’s super soft and plush, looks nice, is durable, and very affordably priced for the quality you get!

Have been looking all over for a rug and the reviews for this one were overwhelmingly positive, much more so than any other rugs I'd seen. Seems this Safavieh brand has some definite fans out there and u can now count me in as one as well. We love to play games on the floor or lie on the ground as well as the couch so really wanted something soft, comfortable, inviting....something that we enjoyed...so r search for shag/plush rugs began. There r so many positives on this rug. If ur reading this, ur probably pondering whether u need to pay $5k for a rug - maybe- if that's ur thing. We didn't want to spend that amount. Most local stores cost $1k+ & don't have a return policy, which makes it hard to know what really works in ur space. Others have rugs but u have to pay for return shipping, which can b crazy expensive. After reading all the glowing reviews, seeing the price of <$1k and knowing that Amazon offered free returns (AMAZING) on this product, it made us willing to take a chance. The rug arrived within a week in a HUGE & very very heavy big roll. However, the rug isn't rolled up like I'd expect but rather folded in there. If u aren't strong, ur going to need some help if u order one of the big rugs. Ours is 10x14 & it took 2 of us (1 very strong doing most of the work & the other directing & doing the small stuff). The rug didn't smell at all and unfolded almost seamlessly. There were a few bumps that straightened out but it pretty much came right out of the pack and laid flat on the floor, ready to use. Almost ordered a 2nd rug to c which we like better but after the cardio workout of getting this one in place I'm really glad we just picked this one and went with it. Ours in the grey with ivory markings. If ur wondering how grey it is, it's definitely a light grey, not greige or brownish, not super dark. The ivory is truly an ivory/off white/linen type color, not white. We didn't put a pad under it (floors r vinyl plank)and don't plan to as it's comfy enough. However, could add a padding if u wanted. It's so nice to walk on and lie down on. Only thing I don't love is the pattern. It's not very interesting - sort of common- but the quality of the rug is so awesome we will b keeping it. Now just have to find some drapes that work well with it.

This rug is beautiful - super soft and cozy. It’s thick but not too shag. Absolutely recommend, especially for the price!

Don’t think about it. I’m no stranger to buying area rugs but this takes the cake. So plush, soft and thick. My 3 year old daughter loves it so much. She almost sinks into it. Great buy. Worth every penny

I love this rug! It’s super soft and very thick. I put it in my play room and my toddler constantly lays on it and runs his hands through it.

This is the 2nd time we've purchased this ivory/gray 8x10 in about 1 year.THE GOOD (actually, great!):This rug is SO GORGEOUS, LUXURIOUS & MODERN yet would work easily in a traditional setting. It's truly like walking on a cloud. We put a .25" rug pad underneath and it's unbelievably soft and invites you to sleep on it like a heavenly bed. I love, love, LOVE it! Our Dyson upright and Dyson stick both work just fine on this rug. The super thick pile occasionally bogs the beater down on both (I know they say suction only for this style of rug, but the beater really helps 'fluff' it back up without damaging it). Spills have been easy to spot clean. Price is great.THE BAD:It quickly fades regardless of the fact that it has no direct sun exposure and 2x's+ weekly vacuuming. We assumed on the 2nd purchase that we had the last of a dye lot on the first purchase when we saw how vibrant the gray design was on the 2nd purchase. However, when we removed the old original rug, we saw that the portion under our sectional was still the deeper gray. The high traffic area also matted down quickly.Even with the bad, IMHO this rug is STILL worth the reasonable cost (even if it requires replacing every 1-2 years (depending on your habits). It's THAT cool!ADVICE:For those considering this rug, my advice is to invest in a quality rug rake (we purchased ours on Amazon) and use it before and after each vacuuming to manage matting. To try & prevent fading again, we're going to try what's found when googling 'salt water to prevent carpet fading'. UPDATE: It was a HUGE mess and didn't work on this rug so don't bother.TIP ON CURLED EDGES & CORNERS: I've read lots of reviews for all sorts of rugs where people are placing objects on the edges & corners and/or just waiting it out hoping they relax down. Some even return the product because they won't relax. If you just grab the section that's wavy or curled and bend it in the opposite direction and then squeeze and hold that for a few seconds it will release. In all rugs with this type of backing I find that within 1-3 tries as described it'll lay perfectly flat.If the mfg. is reading this review, PLEASE upgrade the dye used in this rug. If you did it would be mind blowing 10 stars!UPDATE: The 2nd rug began fading in no time and the high traffic area also began to mat down just like the first. To deal with the fading, I carefully, randomly and sparingly blotted the pattern with a black sharpie. It brought the color right back to life. After the initial fear of taking a marker to a rug it was no big deal and didn't take long at all on our 8x10 size. The marker stays in place even with regular use of high traffic area foam cleaner & lots of raking and vacuuming. Still love this rug but not the constant raking of the high traffic area. Very comfortable!

This rug is very nice looking in my living room. It’s everything they said it would be except it is not very plush. It has a cotton feel which is not as silky soft as I hoped it would be. In spite of that it is cottony soft. It was true to size and everything they said it would be. I’ve had it for a little over a year and it has worn well. It’s a workout to vacuum because of the very thick, deep shag. This rug does not shed and hides dirt well. It had a mild odor that smelled reminiscently like ink or other chemicals of that type. The smell went away within a week. The corners stay down nicely and do not pose a tripping hazard. I have not had to clean any stains out of it, but I think they would come out reasonably well if considering the instructions.

I have ordered this brand and style of rug several times. This one is thin and does not have the same density or quality. Thin and cheap compared to what I usually receive from this brand of rug.

Very soft comfy carpet. I have little grandchildren and sooooo comfortable to get on the floor to play with them. Beautiful pattern and color exactly as shown. No smell and wrapped so nicely it didn't even need to relax and flatten out from the minute I unrolled it. Love, love this carpet!!!
