K&N Cold Air Intake System: Dry-Flow Air Filter, 71-3070

I installed this intake on my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Installation required some drilling. Other then that, easy installation took about an hour and half. Truck sounds a lot better than before and I can notice the difference when I accelerate. Mpg is very minimal but it is better. Dislike: none. Likes: don't have to use oil for the filter, black looks very nice, and fair price.

I installed on a Silverado 6.2 crew. I followed the advice of others and watched the install video a couple of times. Installed in about an hour taking my time (The hardest part was I didn't have a big enough drill bit so I had to ream the mounting hole, watch the video and you will understand). I did not experience any intake noise at idle or cruising speed until.......I put the pedal to the floor and it sounded like a jet taking off which I can honestly say gave me goose bumps. As soon as I let off the gas and went back to cruising speed the noise subsided. Throttle response seems to have improved in all ranges. I was unaware how restricted the stock housing was but it made sense once I removed it and saw the path the air had to travel. I will continue to monitor MPG but it I can already tell on the same hills I travel daily it feels like less throttle is required.

Installation of the K&N Blackhawk Cold Air Intake on a 2011 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 5.3 V8 was a breeze. This is the first cold air intake I have installed and it took about two hours. The instructions are very well laid out and include pictures, which is very helpful for someone like me who is just learning how to do car modifications on their own. The product itself is excellent. Love the way it sounds and I can definitely feel a slight power increase.

I always put K&N intakes on all my vehicles, and haven't been disappointed yet. You'll get a much better sound out of your engine, improved throttle response, and some horsepower gains. It might increase MPG, but it will be negated by pressing the pedal a little further on acceleration just to hear the awesome new engine sound. The metal tube instead of the regular plastic one is a nice touch, and the MAF screws directly into it. Other than that I don't know what the difference between the Blackhawk and the regular K&N system is, so try to get it on sale. Installation is easy. If you can change a tire you can probably install this. There was one part where I was supposed to drill a hole in a mounting plate for my particular vehicle (2012 GMC Sierra Z71) but I just left that bolt off and it seems to be doing just fine.

My last truck I bought used and it already had a similar aftermarket air intake installed. When I switched over to me 2011 Silverado, I noticed less responsiveness in acceleration, but I initially just assumed it was a Chevy vs Ram thing. Having damn near no mechanics background, I bit the bullet and bought this to see if it would indeed improve performance as promised. Apparently, it wasn’t a Chevy vs Ram thing, just a lack of an aftermarket intake that led to the decreased performance. Only took one and a half hours to install (as I said, I’m not mechanically inclined at all) and upon taking my truck for a test drive I definitely felt a significant increase in responsiveness. Yes the price is a little steep, but for me, what I got in return was 100% worth it. If you’re on the fence about purchasing, just go for it, you won’t regret it

This turns your truck into a beast! First off it only took an hour to install, would have been less but I watch YouTube vids to make sure I got everything right. It does not add a turn of horse power, maybe 10. What is it does is help your truck breath better. Now when I give it gas there isn't any hesitation. It just goes. And the is a nice roar during acceleration too. You won't be disappointed

This is a quality aftermarket part. Fits well, easy to install, my 2011 silverado runs better, acceleration is much smoother. Down side it is louder when you do punch the gas bit that not a bad thing. I do varied types of driving. Can’t say for sure about I,proved gas mileage. I think I see some improvement. On the highway... worth the investment .

Improved mileage, better acceleration and only a bit noisier than the stock air box. Quality parts and pieces throughout make K&N kits well worth the money. The instructions are reasonably clear, but I highly recommend going to YouTube and searching for videos on how to install this or a similar K&N product (use the same last four digits of the PN) on your vehicle. There's lots of them out there and watching someone (especially K&N techs) install the product on video makes the actual installation process much easier. My install went very smooth and was exactly as shown in the instructions and the online video. Love this cold-air intake!

bought this to replace my factory intake with the drop in filter i like the added sound on it i also have a Borla s type single in dual out no tuner since i didn't like it and returned it was only running regular fuel tune. i also bought a filter wrap for it gives 2 years of water repellent protection and extra dirt protection just slides over the filter mounted on a 09 Sierra 4.8L might lose fuel economy but oh well gives extra sound dont know if it gets extra power but not like it matters im driving a 4.8 4 speed lol its got speed but not compared to my friends trucks
