MusicNomad Precision Truss Rod Neck Relief Gauge Tool (MN600)

If you're like me, and you prefer to do the set-ups and maintenance on your guitar, this neck relief gauge tool is a must have. It consists of three feeler gauges, one for electric guitar, one for classical guitar, and one for acoustic guitar/bass guitar, and a "pick capo", which when used per the instructions, will determine if your guitar's neck needs a truss rod adjustment. The instructions are laser-etched on the tool and easy to read and follow, which really helps demystify the process of adjusting a truss rod, which even experienced guitar players are sometimes reluctant to attempt, but it is not nearly as difficult as many believe, especially when using tools like this one. So if you want to keep your guitar playing and sounding great, and you don't want to find and pay a guitar-tech every time your guitar needs a set-up, then this tool is a must have, and one that will pay for itself the first time you use it.

Does as designed, simple to use, would recommend.

I was surprised at how small it was. HOWEVER, it works very well as it purports and the size is convenient for carrying in your case or gig bag. The Music Nomad video about how oily other gauges from tool sellers is not an exaggeration. This does the job, the white on black is very easy on the eyes, it's not oily, and IMO it's great for checking neck relief and making adjustments as needed. It looks to be durable and I'm am more than pleased with it, its use, and the measurement accuracy. Simple to use. They even give you a "pick capo" which is really just a pick that works well to hold down the strings at the first fret to free your hand to hold, touch at other (e.g. 6th or 12th fret) and make adjustments as needed while holding the guitar in playing position which is the proper way to check.

This is a really well-thought-out truss rod relief gauge, and it ended up being a bigger upgrade than I expected. I was initially reluctant because I already owned a traditional feeler gauge, but what sold me on this one was the fact that it comes clean and grease-free, with only the sizes you actually need for guitar setups. The simplified size selection makes setup faster and less annoying, especially compared to traditional gauges that include way too many unused measurements. The markings are clear, easy to read, and the included reference system is genuinely helpful when you’re dialing things in. I was also pleasantly surprised that the pick capo isn’t a gimmick. It works very well for holding down the first fret and feels more consistent than some traditional capos, which can add unnecessary tension. Being able to make adjustments with it in place is a nice bonus rather than a requirement. The gauge itself is compact, solidly made, and fits perfectly into a small tool case. Overall, it’s a clean, simple, and very effective tool that reflects MusicNomad’s “keep it simple” approach. If you do regular setups, this is an excellent upgrade over a standard feeler gauge.

Looks are deceiving! Blades are great! Should be in a traditional feeler gauge holder so the blades will stay closed until use! These are not.

Great tool and easy enough directions on how to use to make sure the neck relief on your guitar(s) is set properly. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

Il kit indispensabili se siete maniaci della regolazione del truss rod. Diversamente dalla totalità degli spessimetri da officina, queste non sono lubrificate a olio e possono essere usate in musica. Da bassista il mio voto è 10 e lode.
