Very sturdy
I saw some other reviews about these coming flawed or not being very sturdy, but I thought they were great. They were exactly what we were looking for! We used them to cook picanha for my husbands birthday and they worked perfectly!

Last set of skewers you'll ever need.
Plain and simple: Any meat cubed or measuring larger than 1-inch by 1-inch, as well as anything else you want to grill on skewers meeting those dimensions, can be cooked on these skewers. The main positives are:- Shish-kabob cooks much faster than steaks or large pieces of meat, so this provides better heat distribution from inside and out, preventing overcooking on the outside and undercooking on the inside.- You can grill ground lamb kabobs on these with significantly less worry that meat will fall off the skewer (they are wide)- Because of the width of these, you can skewer longer cuts of meat sideways, meaning you can place twice as many pieces on each skewer- They are quite long, so you are able to cook meat over larger heat areas- Wooden handles prevent skin burns, just avoid touching the heated rivets holding handles together- More skewer surface = less effort to slide meat off the skewer, or grouping meat pieces for brushing-on the glaze or sauces when near completion- Width prevents meat or anything else from spinning on the skewer, which is what you want for even cooking on every sideGuys, if you like shish-kabob, or want to try a new effortless way of preparing some - this is the ticket. I bought a set for myself and a set for my father, we both could not be happier.

Thank you for the best kabobs ever and one awesome party. You dropped a ka-bomb on me.
When I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday party, she said she wanted an outdoor BBQ but wanted kebabs instead of burgers, steaks, pulled pork, etc...I happily obliged and sent out invitations for the "You dropped a ka-bomb on me" party. It needed to be epic which meant real, no kidding, shish kabobs...the kind your 4-year old son walks past and asks you if he can have one of the swords. I made one "sword" with nothing but giant garden tomatoes, big beefsteak ones. Another with giant chunks of sirloin, another with chicken, etc... I would take a kabob or two off the grill and carry them to the buffet table and slide the goods onto a plate. For extra flair and to keep the natives from getting restless, I would come by and drop off a hunk of beef right onto someones plate for them. My wife loved the party, the friends had a blast. In the end, it was a great time with good food and friends, but no kidding, these awesome kabobs really helped make the event a success. I continue to use them every chance I can.

Wish they were all like these
I had a taste for shish kabobs all summer so I ordered two different sets. I ordered the ones on this page and I also order the Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Stainless Steel Kabob Rack with 6 Skewers .The pros of these compared to the latter are that they have the wooden handles. These were really handy and didn't require me to keep slipping on/off gloves. The only cons I can think of is that they are 1" wide and I couldn't find any smaller. That only means that you have to use big chunks of meat. I guess you couldn't really say it's a con because that's how they are advertised. Another think I wish they had was a sheath or a carrying case. A friend of mine had some similar that had a cloth sheath that he rolled up for storage. That would make these perfect.I hand washed them because I didn't know if they were dishwasher safe or not. The other skewers mentioned said they were and ended up showing rust spots. Better safe than sorry...I think these are great. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for good skewers. I used mine on the Bayou Classic Fold and Go Portable Grill without the grill surface. If they end up making some that are 3/8" or 1/2" I will definitely buy those.

Great for Kabobs
These are great! They are not for traditional shish kabobs but better for making steak and lamb and minced meat kabobs...I bought them to make Kobideh Kabobs and they worked perfectly...Very solidly built and a great deal for the price (I paid around $24, but I've seen them on Amazon for a little cheaper than that). Two rivets hold the solid stainless steel skewer to the handles. Not sure the quality of the stainless steel, but it's solid and I've had them a few months now and no signs of surface rust. Long enough to sit across the grill with the handles sticking out. A word of advice - that may sound obvious but you forget when making it - When you do make the kabobs, pay attention to where you actually place the meat - because if it's too close to the handles, then you won't be able to close the grill cover properly without it hitting the handles.

Essential for your home churrascaria
So you want to try Brazilian churrascaria-style barbecue at home? You'll be needing a set of these. The wooden handles stay cool, while the broad stainless-steel blades keep the meat from slipping around and clean up easily afterwards. You may find they develop a slight bend; don't worry about it, it's not a problem. You may also find it's easier to get meat onto them if you sharpen the tips a little with a metal-cutting file or a grinder. Don't overdo it, you don't need them razor sharp. Remember to cut your meat in at least about 2" pieces. The main butt of a pork tenderloin, cut into inch-thick slices, works very nicely. You can find churrascuria recipes online with a little searching, or just make up your own.Just remember, the spirit of churrascuria is meat, meat, and more meat. It's not a cooking style for the saladly inclined.

DO NOT BUY!
I was looking forward to receiving these and making a Picanha for my family. What I got is terrible customer service that never even reached out to us. Extremely poor manufacture my photos are from what we received brand new and metal flaking all over, obviously we returned unused.
