this kit did everything's i needed. it has extra gaskets (im sure for other engine types) so gotta pay attention but it worked great on my 01 civic. ran that car for 5 months with no coolant or oil. this kit brough it back up to a daily driver. really impressed with those 1.7 engines.

The head gasket did not seal let compression in to coolant system in the first 50 miles, had to install a OEM head gasket, front crank seal and valve cover gasket leak at 10,000 miles

I purchased this rebuild kit for my 2005 Honda Civic engine and I highly recommend it. All the gaskets feel very high quality and do not leak, the bearings fit nicely and had a shiny finish, the rings are high quality etc. I believe that this rebuild kit is at least as high quality as if I bought these parts from the dealer. If you are looking for an extremely high quality rebuild kit that is low cost, this is the kit for you. I will be buying another Evergreen rebuild kit for my other Honda

Well I guess for the price it is what u pay for. Missing the paper gasket for rear main and for the oil pump.and for the vtec. And it claims to come with rtv bit didn't.

Came with everything I needed to rebuild my 2001 civic motor, hopefully get another few hundred thousand miles out of it

If you've had very little wear on your engine internals, this can be a life giving kit. Our D17A2 engine had 236,000 miles and was burning a lot of oil. I was ecstatic to see no scoring on the cylinders or crank journals Plast-gage on all these new bearings were right on the money. Crank end play went from just out of spec to .001". Piston ring gaps were all perfect, I had to make no adjustments. I honed the cylinders Cleaned the head and lapped all the valves. Installed the gaskets and seals. Right off the engine had 180psi compression on all cylinders.My only suggestion is to go OEM on the intake and head gaskets. I've had 85,000+ miles out of a Felpro head gasket but the OEMs are better equipped to serve these engines. You can get both for under $80. Money well spent. The intake gasket was causing a "P0401 Exhaust EGR Flow Insufficient" code. When I replaced with OEM... the code went away.
