Truly Amazing!
Microsoft Surface RT is an elegant, sturdy, and highly versatile piece of equipment. From day one, I was impressed with its quality and design. The touch screen is very responsive, the screen size (10.6") is perfect for its functions, it has exceptional speed when using programs or surfing the web, and with 2 GB of RAM, one is capable of running multiple things at the same time without having your experience hindered. Essentially, The Surface is very much like a tablet version of a PC. It comes pre-loaded with some very useful programs such as Skype and Microsoft Office 2013. However, this also means one has to use the Windows app store, which provides a limited selection of apps compared to other operating systems. If the prospective buyer is not looking for a tablet that places the power of a PC in the palm of ones hand, then the Surface might not be the best choice. Overall, I give the Microsoft Surface RT 5 stars because it is everything that I want in a tablet, especially in being a college student. It is much simpler to take it to class compared to bringing a laptop each day.

... current browser so I can't link in to my favorite websites. Otherwise
This product won't run a current browser so I can't link in to my favorite websites. Otherwise, the product was great! I spent time on the phone with microsoft techs only to determine that this device won't run Chrome, Internet Explorer 11, or Firefox. So disappointed.

The tablet is sleek and runs wonderful. I got refurbished and its like new
So far everything works well i bought this to upgrade at a low price, hoping to upgrade to surface 3 next year or so.The tablet is sleek and runs wonderful. I got refurbished and its like new. No wear on it at all. So far so great.I bought a nice type keyboard, love how it connects. The sd card port is behind the kick stand. Its very user friendly. You can update to windows 10 for free with it, i havent done so. Not sure if i want to...worried about the memory and if it will take up a lot. The windows app store could use some more apps but i love how this came with office(oneNote, excel, word..ect)Used skype on it, worked great and volume is nice. Will update once i have used it more.

Nice Machine with some issues
Well this one is difficult to rate. On the one hand, it works very nicely and the price is right compared to the full Surface Computers. They are just overpriced. On the other hand , the printer drivers are non existent for older equipment. I was not able to ever get my Dell 1320C laser printer to work. We did have an Epson that worked. I originally bought it for my wife as a tablet and a terminal for remote desktop and for those purposes it works like a charm. It comes loaded with a full Microsoft Office Suite. She can log on to her other machine from anywhere in the house and have all her files available and still use it as a tablet. Get the tactile keyboard instead of the touch keyboard. Just a few dollars more. The other thing I really wanted to do was be able to remote from a distant location but my internet carrier wanted an arm and a leg to give me a static IP address. You need a static IP address to be able to remote back to your machine from outside the home. If you can get a static IP address, it's a wonderful little machine. That said, it performs well, fairly speedy, does pretty much what I expected and didn't cost too much.

Can't even get started
I have no idea if this product is any good or not. This is my first tablet so I'm not the most sophisticated of users, although I've had desktops and laptops for decades both at work and at home. Instructions are minimal--just one half page of tips that are entirely inadequate for changing the date and time and, more critically, activating the operating system. I flubbed the process, and now, it seems, I cannot have another try at activating the system. My tablet is useless, at least as things stand. My first attempts at getting in touch with the seller make it obvious that is not going to be an easy process.

Not real pleased with the Surface.
Having a tough time navigating this device. The home page on IE does not stay. When trying to go between Start and desktop it takes an act of god to do it. It's antenna for wifi stinks. All other devices on the home network run fine but the Surface takes forever if you're not right next to the router. I understand this could be a learning curve for Windows RT but the OS's just keep getting harder to navigate as time goes on.

Great buy
A productivity monster. If your priority is doing mostly work, non x86 based software, then there is nothing better than this device. You can customize it like it was a regular Windows computer. It also has great battery life. I get about 8-10 hours working on Office documents, browsing and even watching movies. If you must work on x86 software, you can remote desktop on x86 machines. Android and Ipads obviously don't run such software as well.No problems with security either. Malware and viruses for x86 will not affect these machines. You get full blown office with the purchase of this unit. It's a bit cheaper than a cheap full Windows laptop, but those computers will not yield you 8-10 hour battery life and they're also quite bulky. The USB port on this device is heaven sent. You don't need dongles and just about every device on a regular Windows machine will work on this. You plug a big monitor on this unit's hdmi out and add a keyboard and mouse and you have an awesome workstation. Plug it in your home tv and you have a media center. The only thing this unit can't do is play Candy Crush or make you popular in coffee houses making people thinking you're writing a movie script. This tablet is for grown ups while the others are just toys.
