I got this scoop for dog food. The one I had was "1 cup" but if filled, added an extra 1/4 cup to each serving. When I took a full scoop in this new cup and poured it into my existing "1 cup", it was exactly 1 cup. Given its aluminum, I wouldn't use it for liquid and would be gentle with it, but its stronger than I expected!

Like previous reviewers reported, I found this aluminum measuring cup to be rather thin. It works fine for light duty kitchen use but definitely not heavy duty. It looks like the cup will dent easily from a fall or something hitting it.

Great measuring cup.

Same measuring cup as my wife's mother had back in the 40's but without all the dings and scratches.. If you could manufacture this with age marks this will sell like hotcakes... We love it and plan to hand it down to one of the kids.. They might fight over it....

As a typical disaster in the kitchen, I was looking for a liquid measuring cup that I could put in the dishwasher and still be able to read the measurements. I have a whole drawer full of glass and plastic cups that are not longer usable due to the numbers disappearing. My mom had an aluminum measuring cup from the early 50's and I was sad that it was lost after her passing. I was ecstatic to find some just like hers. I purchased two - one to use and one as a backup. Since I can destroy just about anything in the kitchen, I didn't hold out a lot of hope. My cup has become discolored with use, but I can still read the measurements! That's a big win in my book!!

I use this little aluminum cup for laundry liquids, like bleach and borox and the various combinations of laundry products I use. I wanted a measuring cup that I could distinguish from my measuring cups for food and this one fits the bill. I'm sure it will discolor and dent but I dont mind as long as it doesn't break down. It's much lighter than you would think but the reviews prepared me for that and it's also an inexpensive item. Provided it doesn't break down over time, I don't mind. Will update if product deteriorates. So far, it fits my need wonderfully.

A very solid, light and cute cup. I’ve been using it to measure hot water for my freeze dried camping foods. Warning; that aluminum metal conducts heat right into the little handle. Easy to burn yourself. I’ll try wrapping the handle with hockey stick tape.

I use it to measure solids as if you have to fill it with hot liquids it might burn you.
