Hhmm
Sleep aid mouth guard.Packaged well. Arrived in a nicely designed cardboard box. This mouth guard isn't a bad design. It does look like it would be uncomfortable but it's actually not. There is a small breathable hole at the front centre. The mouth guard has a microbial additive to help keep bacteria at bay, which is quite useful. There is a small grey storage case for the mouth guard, this is roughly 8.5cm x 8cm x 3cm. There is also a little tool provided, which is needed. The mouth guard comes solid, you need to place the mouth guard into boiling water for 30 seconds, with the tool in the front centre breathing hole. After doing this, the inner mouth guard area will be softer, place this in your mouth for another 30 seconds, making sure the centre with the tool within, is at the front of your teeth. Once you've done this, the mouth guard shape and size should suit your own teeth. This does feel strange in your mouth initially my partner says but he said it's not uncomfortable, just different. He said he was able to breath easily and fall to sleep fine.I did notice this made a little difference in his snoring but not the deeper sleep snoring. He is absolutely one of those annoying people who falls asleep quickly, so the initial snoring, which is quite repetitive and not too loud, this seemed to all but stop that. When he fell into a deeper sleep, I found this didn't make a difference other than slightly in the sound as there was something in his mouth! I honestly think this is because when he's deeper gone, his mouth tends to sit wide open whilst snoring, so it's not actually being held via the mouth guard anymore.Overall, I was quite excited to make my partner try this and as much as I love him using it for the beginning of his sleep, (helps me nod off quicker with no little snores!) But later on he is still waking me up. If you're not a wide mouthed sleeper/snorer, this could potentially work for you, if you're a wide mouth sleeper/snorer, I don't think it will make much of a difference.

Very difficult to get used to.
This plastic guard has both top and bottom grooves for your teeth to fit into. It comes with a case to leave them in during the day.To fit you need to heat them up in hot water, and use the small tool to fit in the gap at the front to pick them up and put them in your mouth. If you bite down the plastic will mould itself to fit your teeth. If you get it wrong you can reheat it and go again. The plastic doesn't taste too good, so you're probably best to add mouthwash or something to the water when you heat it. Depending on the shape of your teeth it may or may not hold your jaws closed. I naturally rest with my jaws closed so that isn't a problem. If you grind your teeth in bed this would work to protect you from that, too.I just couldn't get use to them in my mouth, even after a few nights. It kept me awake so "contented snuffling noises" weren't an issue. I could still feel rumblings starting as I nodded off, so if you fall asleep really quickly this still may not stop snoring.I decided to drill some holes in the top if the case to allow a bit of airflow too. Not the bottom, as if you rinse it out you don't want moisture to dribble out the bottom. It's nicer to put in dry than cold and damp, I can tell you. They should have thought of this and put some holes in for you. It's not as if it's watertight when closed.

Might work for some...
I was adamant that I didn't snore, until my wife recorded me one night and played it back to me in the morning, oh how wrong I was, a few apologies later I have ordered this item to see if it makes a difference. At time of this review the item cost is 19.99 which is not expensive at all if it works for you. I'd pay a lot more than that to not have a grumpy sleep deprived wife! The items comes in a case, the gum shield that is, so it has somewhere to be stored safely and cleanly which is good. Other than that inside the box is a leaflet with the instructions. The instructions are in multiple languages and a 7 step picture version which is easy to follow. You simply put the gum shield in boiling water for 30 seconds and then into your mouth for 30 seconds to mould them to your teeth, a process that can be repeated as needed. All of this was great, and I was very optimistic about it, however after a couple of nights my wife told me that it didn't make a huge difference to the noise level, perhaps it works for some people and not others?2 stars from me

Good for mouth snorers
Easy enough to set up. Helps reposition the mouth to prevent snoring if you are the type of snorer that is affected by mouth position. Turns out I snore through my nose mostly but it does help a bit. A bit of drooling when wearing but otherwise comfortable.

Got this for my husband as his snoring is driving me mad!! It comes in a little container, and is essentially a mouth guard. We followed all the instructions, such as putting it into hot water etc, but my husband only had it in his mouth for less than a minute before he was gagging and choking on it!! He likened it to being at the dentist and having the moulded putty put into your mouth for an impression. He refused to use it again and we're back to me waking him up every few minutes to tell him to stop snoring!! Obviously I can't comment if it actually works as we never got that far, but I do think you may have to give it a few goes and perservere with it if you really want to try it. From what I've seen it's not very pleasant to use, and there has to be easier, and cheaper ways of stopping snoring...failing that, I'll just put him a bed in the garden shed where I won't be able to hear him!

Just not for me unfortunately
I’ve tried to get on with this anti snoring mouth piece but even after remoulding a couple of times I cannot. Even though it feels huge in your mouth, for me that’s not the biggest issue, I find that the size of hole (predetermined by a piece of plastic) is such that the air as it’s drawn in creates a dry patch on the back of my mouth/throat that leads to coughing. The gel type plastic when heated according to the instructions forms easily in the mouth but I couldn’t stop it from creating a large amount gathering at the front which makes it less comfortable. I think the idea is right but just not thought through well enough.
