The Mystical City of God: Popular Abridgment

The Venerable Mary of Agreda was a nun and abbess who lived from 1602 - 1665 and she received these revelations about the terrestial and heavenly life of the Blessed Vigin Mary directly from Our Lady. She wrote them down between 1637 - 1645 and again between 1655 - 1665 on instruction from the Church authorities. So they were well-known in Europe from those times onwards, but not translated into English from 1902 - 1912.The narrative never deviates from the NewTestament timeline or contradicts it, but simply adds extra information.Mary of Agreda was what they call a mystic (and there are important others) and the church doesn't officially approve these relevations, (as of course they do the Gospels), but the fact that they made her a "Venerable" - the first step to sainthood - shows that they are not dismissing them.If you are a Christian, then this is a truly awe-inspring book giving us tremedous detail about Our Lady's life and about the actions amd mysteries peformed by Jesus as God-Man in flesh and in Spirit.Although this is an abridgement of the original 6 volumes it's hard to do it justice in few lines.It has to be read and absorbed caeefully to fully appreciate the immense holiness and depth of sancity and wisdom within it.
