No worries about investment...
I always wanted a surge protector/ circuit tester for my RV. Never got around to buying one to hardwire into RV. I was always worried that someone might steal a portable device I didn't trust the locks/ guards sold for them. This is the best option for me - plug in the circuit tester, easy to read and understand condition of electrical supply, if it's good, remove circuit tester, plug in the shoreline - store the tester. Use the surge protector by itself if you need it. No theft worries of circuit analyzer.

great for the money
not a full EMS system but for a quick check of the land line it works great and an added surge protection is much better than nothing

Easy to read if you have a clean powerhouse for your RV
I use this each time i arrive at a RV site to ensure I have clean power. The size 9f the unit is great and I feel good that it is a 2 step process with each device having a purpose.

Must have for RVs
I bought the surge protector and circuit tester originally when we started full-time RVing. As power at campgrounds can be less than ideal, surge protection vital to prevent damage to the 120v electrical system. Having a circuit tester is also important to verify the pedestal is correctly wired. I like the idea of having these separate, since it makes it much cheaper to replace the surge protector if and when it needs. The surge protector itself recently was replaced as it performed its job when an electric pole was hit by lightning. The indicator light alerted that the unit required replacement, and no damage was done to my electrical system. The $15 to replace just the protector is a lot easier to swallow than $75 or more for a combination unit. The analyzer has also identified several miswired or damaged outlets at various campgrounds. This has also prevented possible damage or electrical fires.Overall, these should be considered a mandatory purchase with any RV purchase.

Have to be careful
Fits our cord well, stays tight there, but doesn't always stay plugged into the power post. I think this is due to two reasons, wear on the post recepticle, and the additional distance between our cord and the plug-in. We ended up wrapping a bungee cord around the whole box to hold the plug tight on several occasions to keep things tight.

You Need This If You Have An RV
This is a great tester. If you stay at campgrounds and/or RV parks, you need one of these to test the electrical outlets for correct voltage and amperage before plugging your RV's electrical system into them.

Great protection
We work camp and in the park were in now it has clean power. I have one 30amp and one 50 amp tester. Sometimes campers come and tell us their surge guard says the polarity is bad and they can't use our power. This is where the Progressive shines best. Plug it in and it shows everything is fine. Which I already know it is and their surge guard is wrong. If they don't trust the proof given from the progressive tester they are left with 2 options. Do not hook up or we can call a certified electrician. If he says it's our fault will pay to fix it and pay him. If however he says there is nothing wrong then that customer has to pay him for his time. No body has taken us up on that offer. LOL. They plug up and everything is fine for their stay. The worst part is you can show them were that sites power was used that very day by a guest who left or the one before that and yet they still don't believe you. They are trusting a surge guard that is just not that good and then you have to prove it to them. These Progressives are very good at testing and Not only do I use then to prove the power is good I use them when we are on the road in our camper as well.

The 50 Amp kit works great
I bought these to protect the transfer switch on my RV. When it fails from voltage problems it is $400 for parts and another $150 for installation. I consider these to be throw-a ways. Cheap by comparison. I bought a second surge guard so I have an immediate replacement should the first one be damaged by excessive voltage issues. I will be up and running again in minutes versus a week or more.

So far, so good!
Je l'ai acheté suite à une recommandation de mon association de camping et de caravaning. Je l'utilise depuis quelques semaines et je n'ai éprouvé aucun problème à date. Le futur nous en dira plus.
